Great for travel and does the job.
I used this little filter during plane flights and hotel stays to avoid and uncomfortable tummy issues while on vacation. I hurt my knee and when filled with cold water it doubled as a "ice bag". It isn't very big and it would need frequent filling if you're drinking a lot of liquids. I liked that it's collapsible when empty and didn't take up much room in my carry on. Nice little product.

Water safety i can trust
I've used Lifestraw products for years and this one didn't disappoint. The 1L capacity is convenient for backpacking and canyoneering water storage. I was pleased to find out that the filter can be removed and fits my 600ml trail running hydrapak bottles too. So I dont have to buy an additional filter. I tried a knockoff and ended up breaking the cap which just ended leaking critical drops of water. The Lifestraw one wouldn't have that problem. The flow rate is superior to the knock and filtration must be great because I've used it in water sources with high likelihood of waterborne contaminants (presence of animal and rodent tracks, algae, completely stagnant water) without illness. The taste isn't always the best in some of the more questionable water sources but i dont expect it to turn squirrel broth into Voss water. Just keep the enterics out.

Filtered water on the go is a win!!
What a neat product! My son was tired of giving the same old gifts at birthday parties, so he decided to be creative, and this is the item he landed on! It was a hit! He gave a gift to a friend that the friend had never received, and he liked it so much that he purchased one for himself! The bottle is lightweight, easy to pack, and despite my doubts, it cleaned the water in the bottle! We have had fun running lemon water and even lake water through the bottle with great results! Highly recommend this item!

Great for travel!
We bring this on the road so we can filter water in hotels along our route. Itโs great because unlike the drinking bottle, you can squeeze water into a coffee pot or hot water heater. My daughter borrowed it to take to a holiday in the DR because she wanted to be sure her water didnโt have any incompatible bugs or contaminants. It works fairly quickly, but weโve learned to use the water right away rather than store it in the bag. Water sitting in the bag overnight in the fridge developed a funny taste. Not sure if it was from the filter or the bag itself. It does come with its own charcoal filter that is replaceable. The primary filter is good for a really long time. We have Lifewater drinking bottles and a pitcher that havenโt left the water with a funny taste. I think it may be because this bag is designed for hiking and emergencies so the filtration is extremely effective.

Awesome!
Iโve never used anything like this before and I loved it! Purchased the 1L size for my June/July trip to Peru. Let me tell you that the water in Cusco had a strong smell and it ran milky white out of the tap. This filtration system removed all of that! I brushed my teeth, rinsed out refillable water bottles and cups, and washed/rinsed my invisible aligners with this. During long tours I carried it with water and there was no spillage. I loved that I could just squeeze it directly into what I needed (cup, aligners, bottles, my hands). Without squeezing thereโs a nice steady flow of water that runs out of the filter which is nice. Initially the water will have like a charcoal taste, but it goes away after a couple of uses. Make sure you backwash the filter and rinse out the bag. It comes with the backwash syringe and itโs easy to use. Hint for removing the filter without it dropping: The top part of the bag is a stiff plastic, hold onto that when removing/twisting the cap for removal. DO NOT hold onto filter inside the bag while you twist off the cap for removal.

Run farther with this bottle
Great for hiking and running. The filter works very well and allows for longer runs where clean water is not available. Easy to fill and clean. Does not leak. Thereโs a bit of a plastic taste from the bottle but itโs not too bad

Easy to pack, but issues with taste and handling
I bought this as a travel water bottle. I had considered the more structured folding ones, but ultimately decided that they were too bulky or didn't have enough reviews to warrant trusting my trip to them. This LifeStraw collapsible bottle rolled up fairly small, and though the filter does take up some space, it's nice to have. The attached, screw-on cap is a useful feature, and even with the filter on, it's easy to drink or squirt water from, though squirting the water only makes water come out at a pretty languid pace. I was impressed with it's durability, as it kicked around in a pretty full backpack, and endured getting scrunched up and squeezed quite firmly, and I never felt like it was going to rip or tear or explode. I had some issues filling and handling the bottle itself, while the top was off. This should be fairly self-evident, but the bottle has no structure, other than the "shoulders" at the very top, where there is a plastic harness for the spout. This means if someone fills the bottle for you, and hands it back to you without the top on, there's not a great way to take it from them without squeezing the pouch and squirting water all over the place (a mistake I made in a coffee shop, nearly ruining their baked goods display). This lack of structure - so useful for when the bottle is empty - makes it hard to handle, and hard to hold, even with the cap on, when drinking or carrying it; it's a floppy mess unless it is absolutely full. The other issue with it is the taste. Many reviewers noted the distinct plastic taste of the water you drink from this bottle. I thought, prior to purchase, "how bad can it be?" Turns out, pretty bad! I've owned this for a month at this point, and it still tastes quite plastic-y. If this is an issue for you, you should definitely keep looking. All in all, this is probably better suited for camping or backpacking than it is for travel or trail running, where you're expecting to handle or carry it. It does produce what I assume is potable water, but boy, does it taste like plastic.

Essential for wild campers
Used a few times and so far so good, filled up at few water sources with no ill effects nice and portable. I like the fact you can attach directly to a normal soft drinks bottle. Cleaning isn't too bad, long term storage is a bit challenging requiring to be stored wet. It's great quality though and worth while investment if your a hike or a camper.
