Wanted a light run on aa batteries and not chargeable. Light enough read by or play scrabble. With new batteries get about 4 hrs of reading light, than about 4 hrs of light minor working, then night light level for at least 4 more hrs. Progressively get duller. End is personal choise.

Just found that I bought these in September 2017 when I had to look them up to see how to change the batteries. The ones that were in it were the ones I initially installed back then and they weren't a real good brand - very very generic. It still had power but was not as bright as could have been. Plenty bright now! I have used the one I keep in the house many many times. I keep it on the side of my dryer which is on my way out the back door. I take it if I have something to do and I used to hang it on a branch for a senior dog with failing sight.The other I keep in my car with my emergency kit. Living in Kansas, it is very important to have alternatives to electricity in an emergency. Thinking about it now, might just go ahead and order another set to keep in the basement or elsewhere. These are light and very easy to use.

My son bought me a few of these a couple of years ago for emergencies. I have used them twice now after some storms had come thru and we lost power. They are very bright and put out a lot of light when it's very dark, plus you can control how much light you need and with the magnetic on the bottom, I can put them at the top of my door, so they can't be bumped around. Since I have a 2 story, I bought 2 more for upstairs. They are small but mighty. Also, my great granddaughter uses it in the bathroom, she's hasn't figured out the light switch yet but she can these :) I would recommend

We used these for camping several times. They’re lightweight and wicked bright. A fellow camper was so impressed he borrowed one forever. Plastic is a bit thin so I’m not sure how long they’ll last but they’ve held up for several trips this far

I've had these lanterns for a few years now, and they still work as well as when I bought them. They are very bright, lightweight, and even have a magnetic bottom. I mostly use them in the house for power outages, but have also used one as a reading light at night. I wanted to keep the room dark, but be able to read, and it worked. This is definitely a purchase that I am happy about. I would buy more if I ever needed to.
