Weller 30W Soldering Iron with LED Halo Ring | WLIR3012A

Great little iron, and well priced for the model. The LED light works great to illuminate your project if you don’t use additional light. Heats up relatively quickly. I gave 5 stars but if I could I would do 4.75, and only because there is a minimal selection of replacement tips. You can only get the point or the chisel from Weller. Other Weller models have a good selection and good aftermarket support. This tips will not fit this model. Still worth the buy if you don’t need an extremely precise iron.

I use it to replace the light bulbs in my 2007 jeep grand Cherokee heater control unit they are solder in type, and I needed a fine point Iron. This one worked very well and I liked the light.

Have used many times now, and it works as it should. Heats up quickly. Works better than the Harbor Freight soldering iron. The light works alright, but nothing special to rely on. I like that you can lay this on its side at times in certain situations.

This is a good basic soldering iron for light-duty use. The tip wears out fast, and it becomes difficult to find the hot spot on the tip. The LED lights are under a translucent cover to diffuse the light, but after a few uses, that cover popped off.

Best for the money on light solder work. Easy to handle and the LED light feature is helpful

I’m using it to melt plastic and it makes the job easier and quick to make holes to put zip ties in. Just a quick note is that it heats up quick and takes a while to cool down. Just make sure you are doing it outside so you don’t have melted plastic smell in your house.

The light assembly is too close to the iron. It melted and the iron itself is loose while trying to use it. I expected more out of this brand but I guess you get what you pay for.

Needs 1 spare tip, must have a better point on the tip. After about 2 weeks of use, you can see the plastic cover the LEDs is starting to melt. The best part os this iron is the LEDs.

I needed an iron with a smaller tip. Purchased this one and it heats up quickly and the light is amazing for the small tight areas. Wish I had one years ago with a light.

I like the LED lights. The iron heats up quickly and serves well for small electronic soldering.

Unlike the 60W version, this one doesn’t include any extra tips and there are no fine tips available for it like the 60W version. Pretty bummed about that!
