The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + Hyaluronic Acid 2%, Gentle Exfoliating Serum for Smoother Skin

This stuff has made a difference in the feel (texture) & appearance (more even tone, lighter dark spots) of my face. I have to say I'm a bit surprised because the first time I used it I thought "Wow this stuff is just like water!" It is the consistency of water, not like most serums and it doesn't have much of a smell plus there is no tingling or burning of any kind. So it actually does feel like you're putting water on your face. I evenade a point to save the box because I thought for sure I'd be sending this stuff back. But I used it for about a week and my face definitely felt smoother and softer, then today after another of twice daily use I noticed while looking in the mirror that my skin tone is much more even and my dark spots have faded a bit. I was surprised, this is the only thing I have changed in my skin care routine so this has to be it. I definitely recommend you give it a try, it's definitely a great deal. **UPDATE: I just changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I have used this for 2 months now , I just ordered more. It might last longer for some because I do use it before moisturizer both morning and night(the directions do say once a day tho.) I'm not sure if I mentioned in the first part of my review but I literally cannot count the number of AHA peels and serums that I have tried over several years. This one is refered to as a peel but you do not actually have to take it off once applied. So my update is because this is the BEST AHA formula that I have ever used and what's also great about it is that it is also the most AFFORDABLE one it completely transforms the texture of your face making it incredibly smooth. When I bought it I really didn't expect it to be so great at this price point. I can't say how much I highly recommend this!!!

I’ve had the product for about two months now I can’t say what has changed because I don’t see much of change in regards to dark spots and etc. The hydration of the product is not very hydrating, I don’t think it is alone by any means a primary source of hydration. It also has a nice little stick to it after it dries. I should add which very important. It didn’t break my skin out which makes this superb. My skin is sensitive I know this because I’ve tried other serums that have broken my skin out in ways I’ve never seen before as well as sunscreens. I’ll continue to use it, and edit if any changes

Due to the regular use of oil on my facial skin, I was experiencing ingrown hair on my chin/upper lip area. My skin specialist recommend me to start using lactic acid followed by a moisturizer ( I use Lancer Skincare Ultra Rich Barrier Cream). I started using this lactic acid from Ordinary twice a week (which is ideal if you're new to this product) on the affected region and it had significantly reduced the ingrown hair on my chin/upperlips. What this does is that it removes dead skin cells that usually block the hair follicles and helps prevent keratosis pilaris (the bumpy skin) and ingrown hairs. This product also has anti aging properties and keeps my skin hydrated. I also like how this provides gentle exfoliation and can help reduce the hyperpigmentation. For reference - I am a 40 yrs old woman with normal skin type. Typically, I prefer to use this in the evenings as that is the best time to use lactic acid and I avoid wearing Retinol or Vitamin C in the same application. But I always follow up with a hydrating moisturizer. Hope this helps!

Even thought this item is very effective for my acne prone skin and literally helped my skin out tremendously I was disappointed because I purchased the 2 pack and only recieved 1 and couldn't find the option to complain about getting 1 instead of 2. I actually love this company and their products I'm just afraid to reorder anything due to them saying they will send out what is paid for.

Good value as most The Ordinary products are. I find a little goes a long way so I see this bottle lasting me quite a while. I am only using this product once a week as I have very sensitive skin and don’t use it on nights I use retinal but I find my skin looks glowy the morning after I have used it. I can feel it when I apply it, but it doesn’t make my skin red or more sensitive the next day. Will continue to use this to help keep my skin smooth and give extra glow.
