Just installed this in my mixer. The original ones were plastic, the next set I installed were metal but did not seem like they were machined or hardened. These feel solid. Make sure you put that clip in to hold the gear in place. Mixer sounds and works like new.

Pure cr#p. Didn't last 2 minutes. Now I have to take it apart again to get the broken metal out of the unit so it doesn't destroy the mixer which still works.

Seem to fit fine. Longevity to be determined.

Gears seem to match the original gears for fit and function. Time will tell how they wear.

As a note, this gear set does hold the other gears in place a little bit to keep them from rising up but these threats are not under any for of massive toque unless you are using the front drive unit, these are not directly used while mixing. First time I fired these up they were doing fine while mixing the ingredients for bread at speed 2 but once we got to a dough we could see the unit was skipping/binding. The motor was getting super hot. Took the gear set apart and noted the gear was missing teeth which requires me to take out everything, degrease, and put it all back together with a new gear and grease.

I bought this because I needed to replace my bevel gear on my Kitchenaid Epicurean. The price was fair especially considering that I got a new hub gear with it. The bevel gear went in fine, no problems. However, I upgraded from a plastic to a metal gear housing and when I did, the hub gear was too large to fit properly in the metal housing. It fit perfectly in the plastic housing. The new metal housing was a genuine Whirlpool part. Something to be aware of if you are buying this for the hub gear.

The replacement gears can be a very tight fit. I had to press one in using a C clamp. You couldn't just hand press it or even get a rubber mallet on it. But they all fit so far and it all seems to be working so far.

Now my kitchenaid stand mixer is working like new again. Thank you so much!!!
