Looks neat, but doesn't actually work.
Purchased this as a decorative gift and it arrived in mint condition. The metal is cheap so it will scratch easily, in fact a tiny bit of paint was missing on the cap. I would not recommend opening and closing this often as it feels like it would easily scratch off the paint. The box is pretty, and the whole thing feels kind of heavy. The downside to this is that it's not practical by any means, it's purely cosmetic. If you try to focus with it, you'll just see a blur, there was no effort into making it work, but then again maybe that was the purpose.I would recommend this as a decorative set only, do not buy this if you plan on using it practically.

It is somewhat fun
This spyglass is okay. The telescopic parts get stuck sometimes and I have to pull them out very hard. This toy is only for fun, I would rathe have good old pair of binoculars.

The only problem - it's hard to focus. More of a toy or a prop than a tool.

It wasn't as top of the line as I assumed but it is a nice paper wait. a nice art decor I purchased it as a gift and they did like it.

Surprisingly clear optics.
Excellent build quality, excellent clarity through both GLASS lenses. A pirate captain would have killed for a device of this quality back in the day.Heavy yet compact which typically identifies quality craftsmanship, tubes slide freely, all threads are clean and can be fully disassembled if needed. Good range of focal point adjustment to fit any range of near/far sightedness or astigmatism.If I had to guess on magnification strength I'd say somewhere around 10-12x which is perfect for optical like this with a smaller objective lens diameter.Surprisingly bright image 10/10 would buy again.

Husband’s favorite gift!
This brass spyglass is beautiful, especially in the rosewood box. My husband saw one in a movie we were watching and mentioned that he had always wanted one. It was his favorite Christmas gift.

Paperweight
This is a piece of crap. It’s decorative only. You can’t see through it, no matter how you adjust it. Also, the push on brass cap was on very tight nada rly impossible to get off.If you want a paper weight, this is for you. If you want to really use it as a spyglass, it’s not what you want.

Great buy.
Pretty weighty, but it feels super smooth and well made. Resistant to the ocean spray as well.
