A riveting read
The book 'The Darkness Around Us: Five Tales of Terror' by Nag Mani is an enthralling read. I personally don't like horror books but I really liked the concept of this book. The writing style is lucid, the characterisation is great, and the narratives of the stories are eerie. There is a spooky suspense which keeps readers on the edge of their seats. This is a short read, and can be read in a single sitting. This book should be read by readers interested in the genre of horror and supernatural stories. This is a read in the horror story genre, and the book cover aptly portrays the book's theme.

A jaw dropping paragon: ride you cannot afford to miss!!
👁️ THE DARKNESS AROUND US: FIVE TALES OF TERROR 👁️By Nag Mani🖍️This delectable collection of spooky tales didn't even took that long to be completed. So well-written were the stories, that after a long time I felt like a proper gourmet, not a mere eater. Why so, you may ask.🖍️All these stories were based on fairly common plots, which we sort of expect in ghost stories. Nevertheless, the execution turned them into very disturbing tales. Most importantly, the thoroughly Indian flavour associated with them made them stand apart from the usual lot of over-anthologised English stories. Nag Mani used to do this with great panache. DEVI one if his also makes us feel special with his tales.🖍️Here there are ghosts. They are accompanied by stories hinting at fiction, delusion, hallucination, and the most horrifying monster of all— our minds! All of these stories played with my mind as well. They almost challenged me to predict the ending. And here's the twist! So good was the writing and so realistic were the characteristics, that despite my predictions coming true, they left me gasping at the end. This is a very very short special collection. Savour it slowly. Otherwise this darkness would engulf you.🖍️The stories deftly grow on the reader and strike hard when the excitement is on the peak leaving the reader into a myriad of thoughts. Narrated in a lucid language, the pace is quite fast. I could easily gobble up the collection in a single sitting. The characters are well developed and the premise is detailed.🖍️The style of presentation is a welcoming change from the usual violent spooky tales; the author beautifully explores the psychological workings of the human mind, its deepest desires and its connection to reality. The climax will leave everyone in a state of shock, grappling for reality.🖍️Nag Mani has done a splendid job.I would recommend the bookto everyone, especially to horror lovers, it is a treasure to relish again and again.

Just as I expected.!!
"The Darkness Around Us", is just horrific and spooky as its title. The book belongs to, horror and suspense, and the intriguing narrative style is so good. I am not someone whose go to genre is horror, but when you find the title and the blurb of the book quite spooky and alluring at the same time, you cannot resist it,just cannot!! Reading it was both scary and challenging, which gave absolute chill and thrill,it was worth giving it a go.Its a collection horror stories. I found almost of them quite exciting and challenging from the content part of the book, and I mean it. The titles of the stories are in itself quite scary. The narrative style is so so good, totally commendable job done by the author. I believe in a horror book if you do your narrative part good, you win half of your race, and truly I loved author's way of presenting everything,it was unique and captivating. I liked the date and the darkness around us title story very much. The language used is neither to easy nor too tough,it was mediocre but still perfect. The title and the cover has been amazingly done.Being true you won't be able to resist yourself, especially if you are into horror genre.A highly recommended book from my side, just because it is still making me feel, someone is lurking behind the door, watching me......

Great read
First of all, I am a huge of scary stories and all the supernatural things. But the ironic thing is that as much as I love the stories, I am the first one to get scared and not be able to sleep well remembering what I read or watch every time I close my eyes.To put it bluntly, I dived into this book with a lot of doubt as well as excitement. I know I will love the stories, but I do not know what they will do with me after. While being extremely frightened, and excited, I dived into this book head-on with no regrets except fun and many new stories to read. What happens in the book is so chilling that at times I scolded me for picking this book when I knew I am someone who is scared easily, but certainly not someone who will miss the fun, and the rush of everything.I would say this book is quite interesting and intriguing. There was never a dull moment while reading it. Something is always happening and it keeps on pushing you to read forward. The book kept me hooked right from the first page until the very end. I love that it is fast-paced with simple and basic language but so scary, and frightening. I surprisingly love how the author presented everything indicating in the readers a strong sense of creativity and expertise. So glad that I discovered this book. Do add it to your shelves and diversify your reading list.
