We use the Indigo powder in a custom mix for my husband's dark brown hair along with Cascia and Henna. It works well and lasts. Using this mix of Henna King products has also helped condition his scalp and make his hair really soft. The main downside is the smell. It stinks like manure - earthy, plant-like - which is not really surprising, but you just have to know that going in. The smell does last a day or so but isn't noticeable unless you are pretty close to the person. I have tried to use essential oils to improve the smell, but it didn't work, so we just live with it for the first couple of days. If you use traditional dye products they have a horrible chemical smell, so pick your poison I guess. His hair also does tend to have a blue or green tinge to around the shorter hairs in the front/sides during the first 24 hours, but it disappears and you are left with a nice brown color with the mix we use (6 tsp Indigo, 2 tsp Cascia, 2 tsp Henna ==> mixed with a slightly cooled cup of coffee). Overall, I definitely recommend the Henna King line for a natural hair dye product. Their customer service is also excellent.

This stuff really smells!! It’s not just an earthy aroma it had me gagging. No amount of essential oil will cover it. But I suffered through it and got it applied. I waited 3 hours then washed it out with just conditioner. It left my hair so dry!! I waited more than 24 hours to wash again. My hair still smells and my grays are already showing so alot of the color washed out on the 1st washing. Glad I bought it on sales, I’d be so mad if I paid full price. If you’re stubborn like me & determined to try it anyway do it outside! This stuff goes on like mud and bits fly off everywhere! And did I mention my hair still smells!!

Was more black than blue, I was hoping it would have been more blue than black.

It works good with no side effects.

I used it a couple times and I had an allergic reaction to it . Made my scalp so itchy for almost a week, I had to take Benadryl. It inflamed my skin. It was honestly an horrible experience. Also it doesn’t color my greys well. Gives them a blue fade but it’s like a grey blue color.

I suspect this has some undisclosed ingredients in addition to Indigo powder. How would it turn blue otherwise? It gave me all the symptoms of poisoning (fever, vomiting, body aches, headaches). Stay out of this!! In addition, after 4 hours of this on my head, it really did nothing to my Grey hairs!

No me hizo daño en el cuero cabelludo, Tengo 100% cana. Me pintó muy tenue la cana. Lo dejé 5 horas. Lo seguiré usando a ver si me agarra mejor el color.

Compre el indigo, y me parecio buena su cobertura solo que no duro tanto el producto, se cayo despues de 3 semanas, considerando que mi esposa se lava el cabello cada 2 o 3 dias.

Importante, las instrucciones vienen en inglés, porque no incluyen una versión en español??
