Exact Fit for Pool Built in 2001
We got this to replace the original that broke after23 years. It was fun diving down several times to get the Phillips head screws out of the old grate! Used the original screws with this new grate and it fit perfectly. I did have to use a heavy paver as a weight to hold me down while I installed the new one. And it took several dives again to get it done. Seems like it will last another 20 years! I will say the new grate is raised off the floor a bit but it does not seem to bother our pool robot vacuum in any meaningful way.

Exactly what I needed, but go off the picture not the item details.Part number is actually 640-231XV (this can be seen in the image if you zoom in, part number in item details is wrong)It is white plastic, not black metal.It is not 8” diameter, but just over 7 1/2.Diameter is 7 9/16. (My pool mounting ring is 7 5/8 & this fits well)Screw holes are exactly 7” apart center-to-center.

Cover fits, screws did not
These are 7 5/8" in diameter and fit in the drain flange perfectly. The screw holes are exactly 7" apart on center. So it fit exactly for my pool drains.The only thing is, the screws they included were not even close to the same thread pattern, so word to the wise, don't throw away your screws from your old drain cover because you may need them for the new one.

Replaces the 642-2150. Same size, just a lot more holes
The Waterway 642-2150V replaces the original 642-2150. Not sure why the one reviewer said the size was incorrect (unless they sent him wrong one). This is the exact same size. 7-9/16” diameter with a 7” span from screwhole to screwhole. The newer model has multiple holes drilled in the center whereas the older model was solid plastic. Screws were missing is the only disappointment.

7 3/4" outer diameter, 6" screw hole diameter
I don't know why they can't specify the dimensions in the description. I have a 7 3/4" outer diameter cover with 7" screw holes and this does not fit.Quality seems fine, so giving it 4 stars to not knock quality.I hope this helps others...
