Q: Can this be dried in the dryer on normal/high heat?

I do put mine in the dryer but on the lowest heat and only for about ten minutes. Then I either put the dryer on air fluff (no heat) and let it go for about a half hour or if it's a nice day, put it outside to finish drying. But to recap: I never put mine in the dryer on a heated cycle (and never higher heat than the lowest mine goes) for more then ten minutes and the backing on mine is holding up very well.

Q: Is this made of 100% cotton?

No, 100% polyester. However, it is exquisitely soft, if that helps.

Q: Is the backing waterproof?

Although I haven't yet had time to write a review of this great little rug, I can answer you question: the backing is completely waterproof. It seems to be some sort of greatly improved* latex with a textured grid pattern. On the other hand, the super-soft top surface sops up water like ShamWow pads do! This is a completely satisfactory product, from my completely fussy point of view.

Q: Does this slip when wet?

It only slips if placed on a wet floor- such as a freshly mopped floor. When placed on a dry floor, and used as a normal bath mat, it does not slip. I’ve used this for years outside of my shower and have never had a problem. The only time it has ever slipped is when it was placed on a damp floor, not when it has been used on a dry floor in a damp place.
