Durable and strong sandpaper with a heavu duty snading block, Great set for a novice or master.
Broad variety of grits suitable for many applications and finishes. Great quality sandpaper that's durable and consistent with grits ranging from 120 to 3000 there's sandpaper in the array for just about and job and because these can be used wet or dry the uses are almost unlimited. I was surprised and happy with the quality of the rubber sanding block that comes with the set it's a heavy duty block that will last a long time it's comfortable to hold and easy to work with couple that with the durable sandpaper and every job gets easier. I've been working on some custom wood work for my Grandkids and this sandpaper is much better than what I was getting at our local big box store and with good tools the outcome is always better. I will look to JOAN, ltd for sandpaper and other shop tools from no on.

Good sanding block and quality paper...it worked very well for me.
I received this today and put it to use sanding some fairly large areas of wood filler on a small pine bookshelf that is going to be painted. I bought it because I needed a sanding block, with the paper as an added bonus for a few bucks more, since there are a lot of finer grits that I didn't have on hand if I ever need them. The sanding block is as good as any I've used, and I didn't find any of the issues some other reviewers did. It has no lumps, bumps, or defective shaping. It's a good, solid, hefty, black rubber sanding block with grooves for your fingers and thumb on either side and a nice, flat sanding surface on the bottom. Thick flaps on each end of the top lift up and expose three sharp, sturdy pins underneath to hold the sandpaper in place. It worked great and unless you sand things very frequently it will probably last you for many years, if not a lifetime.I only used two pieces of the sandpaper, one 180 grit and one 240 grit. I was dry-sanding a good-sized area of wood filler, (which, for those who haven't used it, is kind of like hardened baby powder when it's dry). The sandpaper clogged up a lot, as any sandpaper will when sanding something like that, but I was able to easily clear it by giving it a couple slaps with my hand to remove a cloud of the filler dust, and then I gave it a few swipes with a small brush with stiff plastic bristles, and it was ready to go again. I sanded for probably half an hour total, leveling the filler and smoothing some rough spots on the wood, and neither piece of sandpaper was totally worn out, as a matter of fact, I fished one of the pieces out of the garbage to touch up a small spot I missed after I had thought I was done. The grit size printed on the back was easy to read on all the pieces, which did need to be sorted by grit since they arrive somewhat mixed up, but the sorting only took a couple minutes. The backing paper is nice and sturdy, and it's thicker on the coarser grits and thinner on the finer grits as it should be. My only complaint, and the reason for the four stars, is that the sandpaper is cut about half an inch wider than the sanding block, but it's easy enough to line up one edge of the paper with the edge of the block and move it over to the other edge when necessary, or use a straight edge and utility knife to trim the paper to the width of the block if you prefer.Overall, I'm very impressed with both the quality of the sanding block and that of the sandpaper, given some of the reviews I read prior to purchasing. For someone like myself who only uses sanding equipment on an occasional basis, this set is more than suitable, and I probably won't find use for all the pieces of all the different grits in my lifetime, but then again you never know. But, if I need it, I've got it, stored in the zip-lock bag it arrived in, along with the sanding block.

Dry not wet
Love the kit since it has tons of sandpaper for use.... only thing is they don't hold up well at all with wet sanding...

Many duplicates and hard to read many of the grits on back
I can't tell what grit most of the pieces are. The back of the pieces are all faded or rubbed off. And there are so many duplicates of the ones that I can read. I was hoping to get a bigger variety in the pack. It's also very difficult to use the sanding block. The pieces are too long to be snug against the bottom and trying to get the ends into the said holders is next to impossible. I would have been better off just going to the hardware store and buying this on my own, at least then I'd know what I was getting.

No Sanding Block!
I specifically purchased this listing because it had both the sanding block and paper, but my order was missing the sanding block.

Great affordable kit
Great kit. I needed various grits for a small project and didn’t want to blow money individual packages of grits with a bunch left over so this kit worked out perfectly. Not to mention they didn’t offer this at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Walmart had similar kits but not with this many grits. This was a lot more affordable then going to any of those places.

Block could be improved
It is somewhat difficult to get sandpaper properly into the sanding block and to get it to stay there during sanding, but the sandpaper seems good and it does work.

The only reason I gave it three stars was because the sandpaper worked. Cheaply thrown together and you have to go through all the paper to find the grit you want. The sanding block is ok. You get what you pay for I guess. The plastic bag it came in would not even close. Will not reorder.
