Great book!
Very interesting, well written and easy to read. I’ve finished it and about to start another of his books “Code Name: Lise”.

Interesting and entertaining read
This was an amazing story about a very interesting woman to be sure; one that I had never known about. With so much ground to cover, many details are skipped over that might have been fun to know. But the story moves along at a rapid pace and was entertaining to read on a long plane ride.

Book club book
Super happy to have read thus story. It was chosen by my book club, something I would not have chosen, and enjoyed. The action moves quickly and our main character is easy to love and want to follow. Who does she end up with, does she ever get caught....Very happy to have read. Highly recommended by this reader.

Interesting, but........
I found the story of Alinei interesting and exciting but there was so much unnecessary detail about names and places that at points I lost interest.

Passionate aery readable account of US spy strategies and successes in WW2
It is one thing to read that women were active in espionage during the Second World War.. It becomes much more exciting to read one dog's experiences, backed by facts from the archives. AND Aline, a fashion model when she was recruited, was soon a part of high society in Madrid and dated men ranging from a count to a beloved bullfighter! Great fun and wonderfully inspiratiomal.

Fascinating look into the real world of Aline, Countess of Romanones
Having read all of Aline Griffith's books years ago -- including "The Story of Pascualete" (published in the U.S. as "An American in Spain"), I was captivated by this behind-the-scenes look at her life and her books' characters and events. Well-written, drawing me along smoothly...I hated for it to end. The research and inclusion of hotel receipts, cables, and content of intel reports added dimension to the narrative that had not previously been available. The one negative was the number of footnotes throughout the text, which I found to be disruptive on occasion...I felt that many could have been moved to the Notes section at the end. A thoroughly satisfying read and I recommend to anyone with an interest in the origins of the CIA, high society in general and the lives of American emigres.

The Princess Spy
I highly recommend this book. I found it fascinating. Aline lead an amazing life and it was fascinating to learn of all espionage that was going on in Spain during World War Two.
