Sony ICF-P27 Portable Radio with Speaker and AM/FM Tuner

I don't watch TV. I only listen to radio. This little Sony has always been superbly reliable. Handy, pocket sized, durable, no worries about recharging, batteries last for weeks, and great for the price. I've had several through the years. Always got them from K-Mart, then Walmart. Walmart recently discontinued selling them in store, and due to many frustrating experiences, I refuse to order online from Walmart anymore. Am so pleased to know I can get from Amazon!

The Sony ICF-P27 is a high-quality radio with nice design, case materials, and dials. It is surprisingly small and portable. The reception and sound quality are good, considering the size of the speaker and antennas. The claimed battery life is high but I haven't tested that.Sony's bigger radios like the ICF-506 would be better choices for desktop situations (plug into the mains, bigger antennas, bigger speaker, etc.).

I’ve honestly had so many good uses for this radio! its come in handy when we go to the beach and would like to listen to some music or just on the road if the car is occupied with my phones bluetooth on call. Especially at drive ins which was my main need when buying it, the reception is honestly quite good. For the value the quality, its pretty durable and has lasted me a couple of months. It has AM and PM, the only thing would be that the sensitivity of the tuner may be a bit high for some, just be slow and patient. Overall a steal.

nice portable radio, a bit bulkier than I was expecting, but perfectly serviceable for my needs at decent price. Also, works off of AA batteries.

I've bought a lot of small pocket radios overthe past 45 years. I find this one to be theabsolute best. The fact that Sony is no longermaking this radio is terrible. I was able to buythis radio a few years ago for between 22 and 25dollars. Now it is going for a ridiculously high priceif anybody is even selling it. That is just not right.

I never expected to say this about a Sony radio, but it turned out to be a piece of junk. For a few weeks it worked well. My husband loves listening to sports radio while he walks. After a few weeks though, the sound began intermittently cutting out, regardless of AM or FM or the station. And now the radio is essentially unusable. When you first turn it on, it works, but after about a minute the sound cuts out and will not return. It was only $20, but ended up being a waste of money. I expected better from Sony.

The Sony ICF-P27 is a DSP update to its highly successful ICF-P26 all analog transistor radio. The Sony engineers were completely successful in producing a DSP radio with the smooth tuning of its predecessor, something other radio companies have failed so far to do with their analog scale DSP ( Digital Signal Processing) models. Most other DSP transistor radios feature step tuning which locks on to strong signals while many times bypassing weaker semi-local or long distance signals. That problem has been largely resolved with the ICF-P27. If you didn't know it was a DSP radio you would think it was all analog like the ICF-P26. DSP works best with FM signals meaning this model has a somewhat better tuning experience on the FM band than the P26. This latest model also features improved sound. Kudos to Sony for making a radio that still appeals to old school radio listeners like me while using the latest technology. It is a fun and very sensitive radio to tune.

My old Sony S10 volume button jumps from a little too low to a tad too high, so I sought a replacement Nov 2024. The new Sony P27 & old Sony sound the same. No quality improvement. New P27 Sony is plastic; old one is metal. The Crane Pocket Radio speaker quality is not as rich as either Sony. Crane is fairly 'tinny', but I will keep it solely because of the digital push buttons.Sony has better quality sound by far. Crane has push buttons.

Good.

Just want a small, no bells and whistles radio for emergencies or that is reasonably packable? This is a good one. Small, tidy, a few buttons and thats it. Nothing more than a simple AM/FM radio, with more than decent sound for the size and great reception/tuning. You can overspend all day long on a little radio, but this one is just fine and serves its purpose well. Battery life in this is quite good as well.

Ótimo produto. Bom de sintonia e volume. Recomendo.
