Loved this book!
WOW! This was an excellent book. The suspense of the murder mystery was intense. Bex, and Max were high school sweethearts. Max wanted to marry Bex. She had a stalker that wouldn’t leave her alone. He made it clear that if he couldn’t have her, no one could. To protect Max she said no, when he asked her to marry him. Her stalker ended up dead. Bex packed up and left her home town. She felt railroaded by the police captain. Bex was only 18 at the time, young, and scared. She didn’t want Max affected by what happened. She knew he wanted to work on a police force one day. Fast forward 10 years later. Her mother died, and she had to come home to settle her mother’s affairs. First week back, and the store where she is shopping gets held up by men with ski mask. Max is there, and he is now policeman. He jumps into action making sure everyone is safe, hiding the employees in the walk-in freezer. The only person not accounted for is Bex. He finds her, and protects her. The book started off fast, and kept that pace throughout the book. I never knew how the plot would unfold.I loved how Max, and Bex got a second chance at love. This was by far one of the best books!

A suspense of good guy verses bad guy plot without reading knowing why
This book has a very interesting twist that I don't think anyone will see coming. I like the suspense of not knowing what is going to happen next. Part of the book is the usual boy meets girl, falls in love and girl flees only to come back. However, in between that is a lot the reader does not know and will not until they read to the end. Curiosity will get the reader hooked wondering why Bex left in the first place.

Didn't add up.
This book did not make sense. Her reasons for not talking to Max ten years ago did not ring true of a teenage girl. None of it.When she comes back to town they have one misunderstanding after another. All the way to 80%. Nothing gets accomplished with the investigation because one of them gets hurt and walks off. The story was very slow in telling what happened. Or what the heroine thinks happened that night. The ending made less sense. The bad guy coming out in the end made no sense. No one knew it was ______. No one even suspected ________. ________ could have gone his/her whole life and no one would have ever known. So why in the world did he/her do all that at the end? This could have been a good book but I don't think the author thought it through.

Me
J: Pretty good, but some of it just felt immature. Thought processes within the plot just was not quite logical for adults, but still a pretty suspenseful read.

Better late than never
The plot was well done and the future will be there. The author captures your imagination and runs with it happily to the end.
