I purchase this for one of my dogs who is on phenobarbital, which affects his liver. His recent numbers showed his liver numbers were good - yea!!!

There is always the hope a supplement will help you feel better, but I just can't tell. I took this for two weeks and maybe that wasn't long enough to tell if it actually helped anything. However, the size of the capsules is reasonable and not hard to swallow. There is not really bad lingering flavor. I have heard good things about this supplement from the internet (if you can believe what you read there), but it may not be enough on its own to help you feel better if you think our liver is causing issues. I just couldn't tell if it helped me or not.

let me tell you why I like these... it actually says on the bottle that these are STANDARDIZED to 80% whatever it says... the important part is the STANDARDIZED.... I was reading a book the other day by a leading Supplement Formulator (had never heard that term prior to reading this book), and it mentioned that you want to look for supplements that includes the following information: STANDARDIZED to ___%, the part of the plant, the species, and obviously how much of that part of the plant is in there.... he also said you want to stay away from propietary blends... the vast majority of companies that use proprietary blends are cheating you out of the effective part of the herb or plant that they're leading you to believe is in their product... a reputable company will take whatever part of the plant or herb they use for a given supplement, then will often SELL the rest of it to these other companies that are only required to list that they have included a particular plant - NOT which PART of the plant and NOT how much of EACH specific plant... meaning, they could literally use 99% of one herb, but market it ENTIRELY as though it's going to give you the benefits of another one which may only make up 0.5% of their entire formulation ..... I have since noticed that these blends list a total mg for say 4 -7 ingredients but neglect to include the amt of each.book I reference: "the energy formula" by shawn wells... (I bought the kindle version)

I give this Vorst Milk Thistle to my dog with high liver values per the instruction of her veterinarian. The capsules are 150mg and there are 120 capsules in one jar. I give my 75 pound dog 1 capsule twice a day. I toss the capsule in with her dry kibble and she eats it right up with the rest of her food. She has a sensitive tummy, but has had no adverse reaction to this brand of milk thistle. This formula seems to be good quality. I’ll be reordering once this jar is empty.
