A Little more pricy that I'd like but a good value
Little more pricey that I'd like but a good value. Much sturdier than plastic reels. Also MUCH smoother! Ironically that's the one problem. Because its so smooth and reels out so well, some time it pulls out line faster than the kite can take up the slack! This occurred when I was at the beach and had steady winds of 10-12 mph. When I was inland and only had moderate (5-8mph) it was fine). I got around this by using my gloved had to apply friction. I recommend work gloves when using any kite reel; however, you definitely need them with this one. The handle on the reel os more friendly to gloved hands and more user friendly in general because of the size (unlike most kite reels the handle does not double as a catch for the reel itself) It hasn't caught me yet when pulling out at high speed but I'm sure it would smart. There is still a catch that CAN double as a handle. I'd say that needs to be designed smaller or have it double as a catch and handle but make it slightly bigger. I question why it costs so much especially coming from China; but, if you fly often its a good investment.

Awesome at managing string in construction lay out of home foundations.
This item makes my job a lot easier than the options at home improvement stores offer. it saves me so much time with retrieving the string lines I set out to lay out foundations in the home building trade. I am a Superintendent and this is one of the best tools for my trade that I have ever purchased.

Honestly, this item exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and sturdiness.I'll be updating my review later, as I've liked the idea of this reel and purchased it for fishing purpose.But my first impression was.. WOW.

Right material but no thought into flying a kite
Product was stainless, but no brake and anti rotation was designed by a child or a lame...

wait until the locking knob bracket weld breaks.
The locking knob broke on both ss reels. The better reel is the 10.5 back lock abs reel.

Stainless Steel reel works awesome..
Very well made! Stainless Steel reel works awesome...if you want a reel that's gonna bring your kite down with ease then don't keep looking, buy this one! You really won't be disappointed! I'm even going to buy another one.
