Quite impressive. Use them to make sure some axis cameras still function after dark. They're pretty good at illuminating the rooms they're in. They did seem a bit expensive but they've proved their worth. Previous IR illuminators have tended to break after a few months, these are still going after more than a year of constant use, although I do use automation to switch them on and off according to the amount of light. So I guess they're capable of surviving multiple power cycles too. I'm even thinking of getting a few more to illuminate some other areas.

I didn't expect much from this infrared light given it was fairly cheap and had a few mixed reviews. When it arrived however I was pleasantly surprised at it's full metal construction and solid feel. Installation was simple and it came with all the fixings needed, as well as a plug type power supply connected to the light via a bullet connector. I did have to purchase a 10m extension cable for the bullet connector cable as the light is mounted on the front of my garage lighting the driveway and the sockets are at the back of my garage so rather than run a 240v extension to plug it into, the 12v extension is a better option and means I was able to clip the cable to the roof beams.As others have said, the light from the LEDs does not cover a 90 degree arc and is closer to 50-55 degrees producing more of a bright centre spot. When used instead of the LEDs under a camera dome the effect on the picture quality of the camera is transformative and in my case changed the night time picture from the camera from looking like it was in a bad snow storm to being crystal clear and enabling me to clearly see the cars on my drive and all the way across the street behind.The light has a day/night sensor and automatically turns on the LEDs when it gets dark enough meaning installation is as easy as drilling a couple of holes to fix the base to the wall and routing the power cable and you can then forget about it while it turns on and off as needed.Personally I think this is a pretty good light and will be getting a couple more for the back of my property.

Easy to fit, sturdy and well made, and has a good long cable. It must have doubled or tripled the brightness of the camera picture... apart from still being in B&W it could almost be daylight.

The unwritten law of never take a workman’s tools have been long forgotten so I got cctv to cover my van at night to deter the local low life’s. The cameras I have came with built in infrared lights but I wanted a bit more. These infrared flood lights work great not only for illuminating the area to give the cameras a better image but also as a big red visual warning that you are being watched.

Verified PurchaseProduct: Tonton IR Illuminator 850 nmI installed this in my garden (roughly 10 × 10 m) — properly mounted about 2.5 m high, facing directly into the garden. It claims to switch on automatically when there’s insufficient light for cameras to see. Well, it’s 9 p.m., pitch dark, and my cameras show nothing but black.I went outside and checked — the IR LEDs are visibly glowing red, so it’s definitely powered and switched on. The wiring’s correct, alignment’s perfect, but there’s zero IR illumination. Both of my cameras (which work fine with other IR sources) show no improvement whatsoever. A fantastic productSet this up to monitor my pets in the garden at night, using an ir scope the garden is in full light even in total darkness.Would highly recommend.

The casing quality and design adequate for external use however I don’t get the impression the unit could take many winters if installed in an exposed position.Installation was simple, 3 screws to fix tue base then plug it in.There is no movement sensor to control the light state, it is therefore always on subject to light conditions which the unit can detect.I do not agree with how the effective beams strength and coverage is reported. However each situation is different so it’s very difficult to asses actual performance from the description. Basically the beam creates a ‘spotlight’ effect around 3 meters distant and 2 meters diameter. Beyond that just creates murky grey shadows in an IR caught image.For me, I want an even spread of light for my IR camera to capture a full frame of clear and consistently light images. Instead, this device creates a bright spot saturating the Center of the IR recorded image.I’d recommend for close quarters night vision IR camera usage and perhaps an aide to vermin control measures beyond that prepare to adjust expectations.Be mindful It’s not a high end solution.

I don’t know if it’s working it could be the camera has failed to pick up, So no judgement until I get some new cameras to check it out
