Great idea, But needs work
Greetings. It took me about 4 hours to pair with the app. I have loads of wifi strip plugs so I know what I'm doing. When I finally paired it and set it up, and go into settings I see that you have to have paid plan to receive text alerts. The alarm when it goes off is really quite you would have to be in the same room to hear it. This was going to be used for my aquariums. I would have needed at least 4 more. not now. AVOID.Ok. I am now being bribed to remove my review it started with £10 and then £15 amazon gift card and when I block them someone else emails me with the same request to my home email account. I WROTE A HONEST REVIEW OF MY OPPINION OF THE ITEM. Update. I'm being pestered by “customer agents for an amazon seller.” They have now offered me £25 and its now gone to £40 in amazon gift cards to remove my review.

Great for peace of mind from water leaks...
This smart water leak detector comes in small cardboard box and inside you’ll find the detector, an instruction leaflet and a contact number for support. The smart water leak detector is aimed at keeping an eye on areas that are at risk of water leaks such as under your sink, bath, waste pipes and other areas where water is used. Quite often, these leaks are small that you don’t notice them but they slowly damaging your property with it being constantly wet. This is where this detector comes in handy as it just sits there until it detects water and then it lets you know so you can get the problem sorted. The alarm is small, 7cm in diameter, and takes a CR123A battery which is supplied already and is installed inside the detector. You just need to remove the top and pull out the plastic insert which is between the battery and the terminal. I didn’t have an issue with connecting to the Wi-Fi network, but it does state it’ll work with 2.4GHz and doesn’t mention 5.0GHz. If you can’t connect to the internet with this then log into your router and disable the 5.0GHz channel and try again. It’ll then connect to the 2.4GHz channel and complete the setup. You can then log into your router again and turn your 5.0GHz channel back on. Because it was setup with the 2.4GHz channel, it’ll only try and connect to the all the time and will ignore the 5.0Ghz. Setting up the app was easy; just follow the simple on-screen instructions and you’re done. A simple test, placing in a tray of water, and the alarm sounded on the detector, and I received an alert on my phone from the app so I’m confident this will alert me if I ever get a leak in the future. I have placed this one under my bathroom sink and I’ll probably get more to cover my kitchen sink and bath taps. An easy way to monitor for leaks, place it and forget it… Until you need new batteries anyway which should be around every year…
