Meridian Qigong Exercises: Combining Qigong, Yoga, & Acupressure Review: Too Technical - I was quite disappointed. Was expecting simpler text. Very technical. I got nothing from this book. Review: Little Book, Big Rewards - This little book makes a big difference. The instructions for the exercises are clear and succinct. I also bought the accompanying DVD. So far I've usually been using just the book because the instructions are so explicit. Physically I've noticed that I feel more flexible and more in physical "alignment". The thing that impresses the most is that these exercises are easy and they don't cause pain except in bodily areas where there are already issues. And slowly slowly my issues of this kind are allowing my body to exhibit more flexibility and strength. This is subtle stuff with a subtle but quick reward. The book's instructions are very specific. The DVD is fun to follow along with Dr Yang, Jwing-Ming, but the book is more specific.

It’s a hard read
The information is alright. The layout, print, thinness of the pages and general appearance makes it a hard read for me so it hasn’t been a very useful resource for me. If you can power thru and extract the information, you may appreciate its contents. I’m a pretty visual learner and this book bored me too quickly to get anything out of it.

Small information on subject, big unnecessary, irrelevant Chinese words, text told by the author
It's just ok book. The author spent time writing about Chinese history of qigong. I really don't care. I want concise practices. I want to see if the practices really help me before I care to read more for Chinese qigong. He uses a lot of Chinese words in the book. For people who don't know Chinese like me, I don't need to know or recognize Chinese words. For people who know Chinese, they could read many other books about the same subject. There was not point to insert many Chinese words to the English book written and published in the U.S. Text and pictures doesn't line up too well. For example, there is only one text for two, three separate pictures. It was not formatted, written like one text for one picture. See the table of content and a few pictures to see what I mean.

) I have finally found this Meridian Qigong sequence to be the only one that actually makes me feel better for exercising - despite looking "too easy"
After years of trying all kinds of exercises (gym, yoga, pilates...) I have finally found this Meridian Qigong sequence to be the only one that actually makes me feel better for exercising - despite looking "too easy". The benefits carry into your day and I have found energy levels tremendously boosted. Pain and stiffness, particularly in neck, upper back, knees and hips has started melting away. The more I do them the better I feel, and there is more to gain from the exercises as time goes on since your body frees up and you can go into them more deeply. Don't rush the movements, relax into them fully and you'll finish feeling restored and invigorated.

Another excellent qigong book by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming
Dr. Yang has an extensive background in Chinese Martial Arts and Qigong, and I have a number of his books and videos. This book is excellent as expected. I have dealt with YMAA (Dr. Yang's org.) often in the past and have never been disappointed. There are a couple of illustrations in the book that could be clearer, but there is an accompanying video if you need it. ( I haven't purchased it so can't review it.) I am over 70 and I have started doing the exercises in the book and find most of them easy to do.

The book is nice ,as it's based on the compilation of the masters last 50 years of experience ,but just going thru the book is only 50 % of the job done, the rest 50 % is done when you get the masters video lessons, which I got in Google play store in app version, it also called meridian qigong and has thorough explanation by the master and is very good and you can see the master doing live exercise & is more explainationary than the book and also you have a 2 hour lecture of the master explaining you every thing in detail which the book is missing, but you have to purchase it for some Rs 650.I wish Amazon in future gives a combine deal or combined package for both book and DVD to all it's customers at a nominal price rather than we buying different things from all over the place which rather works out very costly. Hope they make some improvements in future

Quand on feuillette le livre sur Amazon, on nous montre que les photos sont en couleurs mais pas du tout ! Les photos sont toutes en gris et blanc.
