Pageturning action and adventure
Chance and Ana go in search of a legendary shapeshifter in Mexico. Along the way they encounter tiny animals that pay a little too much attention to their movements. They meet friendly villagers and learn a lot of skills from the mentor, but Chance's evil cousin stalks them and causes mayhem in the final showdown.Ana surprises herself with a new skill, and even though disaster strikes, she has hope that in the next book she can fix things up.I really enjoyed this book. The author's voice is authentic and I could tell that she spent a lot of time outdoors observing animals and plant life in the forest. Her descriptions were realistic and while reading the book, I would get creepy feelings looking out the window at the squirrels or birds in my backyard, or wondering about a cat that slunk across my path. The food descriptions in Mexico had my mouth watering and the characters Ana and Chance met were endearing. I enjoyed learning about Mayan legends, and I'm looking forward to Ana's new adventure in the third book.

Beautiful
set in a beautiful location Ana and Chance learn more about their powers from his family who still live in the area of the ancient mayan civilization. At first it seems they have nothing to overcome. The couple is perfect, They are treated like guests. They might as well be on vacation. The story is at times beautifully written and towards the end things take a turn for the worse, a turn that should have been obvious to me, It was one that is encouraging me to read the next.

Good Series
Pace was a bit quicker in book two. Liked character depiction. Unrealistic in all the right places. Will read rest of series. Thank you author and BookBub, for this series. Hope authors daughter is well and whole.

Fun and exciting!
Prodigy is the fun and exciting book two in The Shapeshifter Chronicles.Ana and Chance are in search of answers in book, searching for a new mentor for Chance. Their search takes them to Mexico, to the Yucatan. And what they find there is answers but also more trouble. As Chance learns more about his abilities, Ana learns how to protect herself. She also discovers something she never expected. The second book gives us answers, but it also leaves us with more questions and wanting more! I look forward to the next book in series, and I'm anxious to see how things pan out for Chance and Ana now that Mrs. Brown has adding in a shocking twist! If you haven't read book two yet, wait no longer! Downer
***Very Spoilery***First off, I'm a very fast reader, so this only took me a few hours.I loved the first book. It was so well-written and the characters are great, and it was filled with hope. I know that the second part of a trilogy is supposed to filled with problems, but did this one have to make two happy people so utterly alone and miserable? This is fantasy - it doesn't have to be like real-life, where everyone is unhappy for most of their lives. Do we really have to have our favorite characters ripped apart like that? Some people may, but I just don't. When I put a book down, I want to have a little smile on my face and think that my life was a little happier for the read. I don't want to feel sad, and yes, kind of annoyed because I don't like investing time in something that brings me down. If I want that, I can read 19th century Russian literature (I have) or "The Gargoyle" by Andrew Davidson (seriously, if you are in a depression stay away from that book ).The writing was great, though. The first book was so promising. I am so disappointed in this one. There is absolutely no way that I will read the third - even though there is a possibility for a good ending, where this book ends leaves the characters in a place that they will have to go through 80-90% of the book totally alone and miserable. It will be a total chore. Nah. Don't want to go that place again. The author lost a reader.

I. Love. These. Books.
This is a great book and the series just has me hooked. I’m pretty frugal and I think the 2.99 justifies the content but the author could charge me an arm and leg and I’d still buy the books. I finished this too fast because I was overly excited for the development of the characters. Its definitely a series I’d read again! Love it!

A strong story with well developed characters in an enthralling mystery of ancient magics. An author who's morality, character, and dignity is revealed in her writing. I believe I'd like Ms Brown and I'm delighted with her stiry.

Yawn ...
The first book in this series interested me, it was a different take on the over told stories of shape shifters, but the authors repetitive writing tended to bore me on this book so much so that It's the first book I have begun reading and finished half way through

Prodigy certainly deserves the five stars review! From the first page I really cared about Ana and Chance and the rest of their family. I can't wait for the next book.
