34 Pict-3 Carburetor

This was an excellent replacement and wish I had done it years ago. I had rebuilt the current carb twice in the last 5 years and could never get the engine to run smoothly. I took a change on this replacement and it corrected everything immediately out of the box, no adjustments needed. Installed the carb, reset the timing, and drove around for an hour without an issue. The engine is smooth and idles perfectly!For the cost of rebuild kit this was an excellent solution for full replacement.

It cured my idle circuit problem of rough/no idle and the flat spot when accelerating. I ordered it from Amazon last night at 6 PM and they delivered it this morning at 4 AM. I inspected inside the bowl and everything was good to go. I left the 127 main jet and the 55 idle jet as received and did not change to the extra 137 main and 60 mm idle jets. I fine tuned the idle air/fuel mixture (smaller screw on driver side of carb) and then set the idle at 900 RPM using the bigger screw. Then I also set the choke/idle screw to match the RPM I had set before using the bigger screw on the driver side. Then I set the SVDA distributor timing at 30 degrees at 3000 RPM with the vacuum advance disconnected (with a piece of tape over the end of the port on the card to prevent a vacumn leak). After timing, I removed the tape and connected the vacumn advance hose to the carb vacumn port. Runs great now!

It’s a great value to replace a worn out carburetor. I was chasing idle issues on my old carburetor. Ended up being a worn throttle shaft from many years of use. I unboxed this one, and installed. When I turned the key it started quickly. After some minor adjustments to the mixture screws it was running smoothly. It’s also a nice looking unit. Even came with a filter. Time will tell on the longevity, but I won’t be running ethanol fuel.

Had a little manufacturing debris in the idle circuit. Annoying that I had to clean out a brand new carb, but has been running well since the initial issue.

Right out of the box with minor adjustment it ran great and idled better than it ever has. Good carb so far.

Was supposed to fit my 61 beetle but clearly won't. Made for later models like 1600 dual port heads. But I have a 74 thing I'll put it on.

The carbuerator came well packed in box . It is important that explain that I am a retired ford engine fault nianostic engineer and have a excelled in this field. The item is high quality and has delt with common T2 bay carbuerator fault like venture air flow at high speed also giving you the buyer the option of self jetting the main jet system to your SEP thank Amazon for making my day.

Operation is good out of the box with done small amount of tuning required

Pleased with carburetor and is a very good alternative at a very reasonable price . But I stripped it down cleaned and set it up as others suggested and fitted it and it ran super super rich . I stripped it again and found i had forgotten to check the idle auxilary jet . After taking the plug screw out to look at the jet it fell out on the floor , it hadn't been screwed in at all , oil change to do now as fuel contaminated oil . Just a tip for others to look for , now running well and very satisfied with unit well worth the money but check it out before fitting.
