Been using for 3 years and quality has been nice. Overall durability 8/10. Seen some screws come loose a few too many times but no real issues to mention in 3 years and reliability is pretty good. The internals now are definitely not what you would buy new now but work just fine and I plan to keep using for a while longer before updating. Using with external devices (ssd, mouse, keyboard) on a stand works nice. On the go use is definitely more of a hassle but very usable. Not my favorite portable laptop due to size and weight. But battery life is good. Cooling is great but definitely can get a little loud. Display is clear and sound is ok but with headphones is definitely better. Overall 5/5 for experience considering length of time

I've wanted something that I could use as an everyday computer for work and use for gaming in my off time, something that could combine productivity and gaming in a compact design. I did a lot of research and found several (Razor Blade, Sager) but they were just too far out of my price range. I was worried I was being unrealistic for my budget. Then I came across the 2022 ASUS TUF Dash 15 (FX517ZM-AS73). From a physical standpoint I find the form factor is great in the hands and taking it mobile is a breeze thanks to it's compact, lightweight and super sleek design. I can easily pop it into my messenger bag when I need it on the go and when at home I can hook it up to a secondary display and enjoy gaming on it like I would a desktop. Under the hood it's clear ASUS wanted to make an impression. The hardware is impressive, yes, but how it synergies together is the most impressive part. Across the board performance is near instantaneous and (if power options and Armory Crate are utilized well) the battery life is also quite impressive when used for productivity tasks, too. The hardware is an ensemble cast with an Intel Core i7-12650H, 16GB of lightning fast DDR5 memory, a 512GB M.2 SSD and a 6GB GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile to round it out. It should be mentioned that while the computer itself supports Gen4 M.2 drives the stock 512GB SSD is Gen3 - likely to cut costs - however don't let that deter you as for an O/S drive it works great. Also, in a nice change of pace this laptop can be completely upgraded and you won't find any hardware soldered to the board. I have since added a 1TB Samsung 990 Pro in the second M.2 slot (for game installs, storage) and could not be happier with the near-instant performance. Speaking of performance I have yet to find a game title that I am unable to max out the settings on, even when hooked up running UHD resolutions on my secondary display (I have an LG UltraGear 27GL83A-B) which takes advantage of the G-Sync support for silky smooth response times. I've not yet even needed to use the "Turbo" mode as everything gets handled quite comfortably using the "Performance" setting. ASUS did their homework when they designed the 2022 iteration and you can tell they were paying attention, the 2022 Dash 15 corrects many of the complaints from the previous years model and then some. The new cooling system design is incredibly effective and helps cut back on a lot of fan noise, even when under load (using the "Performance" setting) the fans when kicked up are barely audible while keeping everything nice and cool. I'm very impressed with this machine and can easily recommend it to anybody interested in this model. No matter if you're looking for a dedicated gaming laptop or something to use for daily productivity tasks and some gaming on the side the 2022 ASUS TUF Dash 15 (FX517ZM-AS73) is hard to beat for performance and value.

Shipment was great and the laptop performs decently (didn't expect too much of a cut down version of an i7 with 3060), it's quite thing for its hardware, lightweight (a bit less than 2kg, my previous one was 2.5kg) and offers somewhere between 3-6 hours of moderate use. It can be charged via type C, only using the none-thunderbolt port (shame, could be great to use on a dock for users who don't use it to its max) up to 100w. works great for none-Asus chargers. charged it with 45w,65w,100w and for light usage it works great. when gaming even 100w aren't enough to keep it charged, but you can expect 2-3 hours of repeated gameplay instead of like 30-60 minutes. Due to it's light weight I find it best to carry it around with a power bank on the go as the combined weight is still a bit less than the average gaming machine. type c charging really is a life changer. The display isn't the brightest but I never found it to be an issue even when working in a coffee shop without any shade so good enough, and the IPS level quality is good. Some downsides: - build quality has some issues. some plastic parts that cover the screen hinges sometimes fall off a bit and needs to be pressed back in. the screen has 4 rubbers at each side to prevent the screen from being too close to the keyboard when closed, but even though I used a sleeve bag to house the laptop, the rubber left a permanent mark on the sides of the keyboard which look a bit off, and the screen still got scratched a bit by the display. mostly not noticeable but it's worth mentioning. software wise this machine isn't the most reliable, all Asus software on machine is buggy as hell so I'd avoid anything but the minimal use of armory crate. the machine registers temperatures, usage percentages and much more incorrectly. sometimes the temps are low, nothing is open, but armory crate says GPU utilization is at like 80% and the fans go hard (they aren't very loud, it's just surprisingly random). then you need to enter armory crate and after 3 seconds it resets. Overall, if you put a microfiber cloth between the display and the keyboard (you can find large ones for like one dollar on amazon and Aliexpress), you can take a very small charger/power bank on the go and enjoy great performance and portability at a great price. usually similar machines cost way more. I'd still recommend to see if the issues are relevant for you and your use case but I am satisfied.

I bought this laptop on the 3rd of April and got it on the 11th even though tis only been 2 days i can tell a few things, any expectations you have of this laptop regarding gaming will be met and some more This beauty will give you frames like you havent seen before( i came from a gtx 1060 and i7 8th gen) and the battery life not so sure but when connected to an external display will be 2 hours and 40 minutes but on its own it will probably be double that for a gaming rig this will rival quite a few desktops highly recommend now the flaws when on turbos this sounds like a jet (i mean it) and 1 more flaw i have a 165 hz external monitor and when connected to it the laptop couldnt only support 120 hz i got it checked and the fault was in the laptop nonetheless this is still a great buy I tested 2 games and hear are the fps GTAV - VeryHigh/Ultra settings =120+fps ( i cant say since my external monitor is capped but it can easily go more than 120 fps) Valorant- Shooting Range=600+fps Ingame=(Low settings)=400+/)High settings)=300+

If you are like me and game mostly on consoles and are just looking for a device to pick up some PC exclusives and play them on your TV, then this is great. If you are like me and recently started working from home, and are looking for a laptop that can process many tabs at once, and receive strong Wi-Fi signals, once again this is great. Lastly if you are like me and go to college mostly online, and need any sort of capable computer, then this will work for that also. The GPU, CPU, & ram in the model that I got are relatively high end and seem to work well based on the fidelity of the games I'm able to play. No chronic issues. The monitor is nothing to write home about, hence why I mentioned hooking it up to the TV. & The battery life while unplugged is pretty bad. If you have the battery life extending option on, which keeps the battery from charging above 80%. It is basically unusable while unplugged, we're talking sub 2 hours of use at times. I got mine used for $700. Compared to any other laptop in that price range I'm incredibly happy, and once again this is actually a pretty powerful gaming machine. So if you can get yours at a similar price, go for it.

I got this laptop on sale about 4 months ago. It's been a bumpy ride to say the least. This thing has been disappointing of both the hardware and the software front and as of right now I strongly regret buying it. Starting with the hardware, ASUS seemed to have cut as many corners as possible to bring the price of this machine down. On some level that's expected. Afterall, you're getting a 3060 gaming laptop for close to a grand, so thinking this is going to be a premium laptop is unrealistic. However, this system doesn't even meet the standards that most would expect from a budget laptop. For starters, one of the cooling fans is already failing and causing a grinding buzzing noise, with less than 4 months of use. I'm a fairly tech savvy person and I've replace fans in laptops before. Usually replacement parts are cheap and easy to find, but for this particular model, fans are almost non-existent, even on eBay. As a cherry on top, to remove the particular fan that's broken, you must remove the entire cooling system. That's right. Replacing the fan also means you're going to have to replace all the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. Now of course you could ship this off to ASUS and enjoy a long period of not having you're computer available, but something as simple as a broken fan shouldn't be this much of a headache to fix yourself. And then there's the paper-thin flimsy frame. It's so weak that I can click the track pad by pressing on the bottom of the case. I've used this laptop while laying down and accidently clicked the track pad just by holding it from the bottom, with almost no pressure exerted. It's remarkable cheaply made. I imagine even a fall from a modest height would send this thing laptop heaven. The last hardware pain point is the screen. While the image quality is about what you'd expect from a laptop at this price point, the backlight bleed is absolutely terrible. Most of the time it's not noticeable but if you're watching something that has a dimly lit scene it can be very distracting. I've owned several laptops in this category and the screen on this is by far the worst in terms of bleed. And now we come to the software. Oh boy... Like many manufactures, ASUS uses there own proprietary software to mange system performance. ASUS' is called Armoury Crate. It is easily one of the most buggy and inconsistent pieces of software I've ever used. Sometimes it doesn't change modes properly. Sometimes it says it needs updates, but refuses to install them. Other times it decides to fire up all fans at idle, even in silent mode with no applications open. It's simply a mess. Now you might be wondering, "Well can't I just uninstall it and use other system management tools?" and while you probably could, you would miss out on one of the key selling points of this laptop: it's built-in MUX switch. This switch, as far as I can tell, is only controllable through Armoury Crate, so if you want to use it you're stuck with their broken software. Overall, I would steer clear from this one. I know, I know, it's tempting for the price... But it's simply not worth the trouble of dealing with both hardware and software problems. If it was just one of these things, maybe it'd be worth it. But there are many other options available that offer a far more reliable experience than this laptop.

Es un excelente equipo, vengo de un PC de escritorio y es mi primer Laptop con Tarjeta de Video dedicada, me animé sobre todo por que tiene memoria RAM DDR5, lo mejor fue el precio, por poco menos de 19k considero que es una ganga por las prestaciones que ofrece, le agregue 32gb de RAM y un SSD extra de 1TB ya sumando todo me gaste 24k. Me fue mejor que la TUF 2021 que estaba en 30k Aunque no la usare principalmente para jugar, he probado algunos juegos y corre bastante bien el Gears 5, Halo TMCC, Halo Infinite, la temperatura es adecuada y como todo dispositivo requerirá sus mantenimientos oportunos, Para jugar prefiero usar mis consolas o bien la de escritorio que puedo exigirle el máximo sin preocuparme de las temperaturas. Para la programación, programas de edición y gráficos es muy buen equipo, es una buena compra para cualquier estudiante que requiera de un equipo con buenas prestaciones. El equipo de 16GB de RAM y SSD de 500GB a como viene de fabrica es excelente, si puedes agrégale más RAM o bien aumenta el SSD que 500GB los consumes en poco tiempo. Pros: -Procesador de última generación -Memoria RAM DDR5 -Slot extra M.2 -Buena duración de batería 4-6 hrs en modo Eco -Diseño sobrio, excelente que la iluminación sea blanco y no el árbol de navidad rgb -Touchpad de muy buen tamaño -Teclado Completo -Pantalla más que excelente -Puertos USB C, HDMI es excelente que aún incluya este puerto. -Buen sonido, bastante equilibrado -Buenos materiales de construcción Contras: -SSD de fabrica muy sencillo -16GB en 2x8GB lo que te obliga a comprar 2 memorias para expandir -Cámara web justa -La apertura de cubierta inferior es sencilla pero si eres principiante puede ser un poco complicado

I’m currently playing ac : origins on ultra settings and it is working just fine, the only problem I have is the cooling issue, it gets really hot but I don’t see any problems with it while gaming

Compré esta laptop porque tenía buenas prestaciones como memoria RAM, procesador, pantalla, teclado, etcétera, sin embargo, bajo mi punto de vista, recomiendo aumentar la ram mínimo al doble. Yo la compré con 16 gb de ram y la suelo utilizar para edición de fotografía, video y algunos programas de ingeniería como Autocad solidworks o revit. En los programas de diseño como la suite de Adobe, el general es buena, pero, por ejemplo, si utilizas Premiere y Aftter Effects al mismo tiempo se puede quedar pegada (pasmada) siendo que le falta algo de memoria. En cuanto a la navegación en internet, teniendo varias pestañas abiertas al mismo tiempo responde perfectamente, si usas internet con varias pestañas abiertas y algún programa de edición lo soporta pero si abres más programas al mismo tiempo ya te hace falta memoria RAM, nada que afecte su funcionamiento. En general ha sido un buen equipo, solo aumentar la RAM. Ah, lo olvidaba, en ocasiones la pantalla se llega a Freezer si apagas y reinicias queda funcionando nuevamente de manera correcta. Y sobre la batería su duración depende de cómo se utiliza la computadora, si la cargas de trabajo te puede durar entre una y dos horas, si la carga es mínima entre dos a tres o hasta cuatro horas. Han pasado dos años y 15 días desde que la adquirí. Espero les sirva mi opinión.
