Husband works in construction this diameter tape keeps getting envied by co workers and 2 times a year comes up “missing”. Weather he dropped if from a jlg or it grew feet a walked away! This is wonderful purchase for piping work, insulation, anything you need at circle or circumference!

I would give this product a 4-1/2 stars if this was possible in the rating system. I like it very much, but not enough to say that I love it. I was looking for a quality tape measure that provided both inch & metric measurements and was not too large. This product also provides a diameter conversion measurement (when you measure the circumference/perimeter of a round object), which is a definitely a valuable capability. The quality, materials & finish are quite good and are somewhat better than I expected at this price point; this product should last a long time under moderate use. The 1/2" wide (12 foot/3.65 meter) steel tape is very strong/robust. The measurement/marking lines and numbers are very clear/easy to distinguish (high contrast). The tape measure size/storage footprint is just right for my needs; not nearly as bulky as some alternatives but large enough to get a good handle on. The spring loaded, tape retraction action is smooth & fast. The only reason for not rating this a five star product; it has a rectangular ring end on the tape versus a 90 degree bent metal end catch. This requires two hands for the type of measurements that I make most of the time. However, this is a fundamental trade off; it will work better under some measuring conditions. They should probably provide an optional 90 degree bent metal end catch version or clip on. Also, it does not have a lock on the tape; you have to effectively "lock it" with your fingers. This is not a large disadvantage, but I would pay more for this function because it can free up a hand under certain measurement scenarios. This product is highly recommended. It should be noted that I was motivated to post a review of this product because I would receive a free "silicone snap ruler" from the vendor. However, I stand by my review as an authentic reflection of my assessment of the product.

This Perfect Pi Measuring Tape save me a step at work. I work with metal and normally I would have to measure the circumference of something and then enter that measurement into my calculator to find the circumference. This tape shows me the results right from the tape. And because the circumference side is divided into 1/100ths it is the same as decimal ,010 . So when I need 7.875" dia I am just measuring 7pi and 87.5/100ths. Also, the other tapes that I have to measure circumference (like a Stanley 1/4 x 120" standard circumference tape) are very narrow, yellow, and hard to read, this Perfect Pi tape is 1/2" wide with easy to read black on white markings. I also like that zero starts a few inches into the end of the tape, making it easy to line up zero with the desired reading. Most circumference tapes are 72" to 120" long, this one is at least 144" therefore being just a little better than all the rest. I wish I would have fund this tape years ago. I wonder why there are not more like it on the market? Why wouldn't every tape measure maker have this in their line up? But until they do, I would strongly recommend that if you measure round things, Buy this tape. It's not even expensive. And it has a magnet on the side that I didn't even know about, It sticks to the side of my tool box and i ready and available whenever I need it. (Co-workers? get your own)

It's accurate. This needs to be said, since it's not a given for many tape measures on Amazon. It's metal, but still flexible enough to be handy. This is also great. The reason it does not get 5 stars is because: - The leading part of the measuring tape is blank. This severely limits my ability to fit the tape into crevices and corners. Likewise, I found no good use for the hook at the end. - The retraction-stop mechanism is useless. You cannot stop it from retracting. The center of the tape cartridge spins when it retracts, and you're meant to stop it with your thumb. Fairly intuitive. It does not work. The retraction does not stop when held. It keeps retracting for ~25 cm more. No matter how careful or careless I am with it, it always retracts despite me trying to prevent it. The stop feature is something all tape measures have and I have never seen it fail, even on cheapo ones. - The diameter measure is useless. You WILL accidentally read the wrong measurement on at least 1 occasion, even after reading this review. It's printed clearly, but no-one should have to read a label every time they use their tape measure. It should come natural. This "feature" should just not exist. Both sides should have the same readings, which would have been way more helpful. I would have given it 4 stars if the retraction-stop mechanism worked. I would have given it 5 stars if the diameter and leading blank space was fixed.

I rarely write reviews, but I just received this silver measuring tape from the Perfect Measuring Tape company and feel compelled to share my thoughts. I expect that this measuring tape will serve me well for years to come. It's seems durable, with convenient features, and easy to read. The size (and lack of big clip built in) means that it will slip easily into my pocket for all job outings. The silver finish was such a nice surprise in a world of florescent yellow, red and green measuring tapes. It seems like it will be easy to master the spinning dial that controls how mast the tape retracts. It doesn't stay locked when extended (it begins retracting in slow motion, regardless of adjusting the center screw -- but, that's ok because the tape isn't as sharp on the edges as others that I have used so it's easy to grasp the tape with the same hand holding the device to carefully inspect a measurement. One side of the tape is magnetic, which I think some people will appreciate but I find a bit distracting when it unintentionally picks things up. No big deal though. Finally, I was absolutely delighted to discover that this was produced by a small family-owned American business that values quality and customer satisfaction. The cost of the item is less on the company's website, but Im grateful to Amazon for the super quick delivery so am happy to pay the additional cost. I'd strongly recommend this product and company!

I use tape measures everyday. I use expensive Pi tapes all the time. I understand circumferences and PI. Ill admit this little tape was a little confusing to me at first. Having standard and metric. I actually called and talked to Barret the President of the company and what a nice guy. I felt a little silly after talking to him because the tape is really easy to read
