Q: My burner is deeper than the thickness of this sponge. Do I only fill it enough for what the sponge can absorb or can you fill above the sponge?

I have no idea which way is safer but personally I prefer not to fill it too full. Not sure it you have the same issue but I have two burners, the larger one always produces a loud shouting flame upon ignition, sometimes this does take out one or two burning liquid drops. So I always avoid any visible liquid lawyer above the wool surface.
