Exotic Wood Pen Blanks 9-Pack: Wenge

First go at turning pens, wood turned nicely, beautiful grain

I like the color and exoticness of this wood, but I find it hard to turn down and to sand smooth. I am an average wood turner so my opinion may not mean much, but I did find this wood to be hard to work with. It is however very nice looking when finished.

The blanks do not give the nice finish that other blanks do. These have a tendency to chip very easily. I have been unable to obtain a glossy finish like my other blanks.
