Downhill Maple Longboard Skateboard | 40-inch Drop Trough Deck | Made for Cruising Ride

I'm completely new to longboarding/skateboarding, so I can't say much about the relative quality of this board compared to that of others, but I got exactly what I was expecting. I bought this specific board because the price seemed reasonable, and there are a lot of 4-5 star reviews here on Amazon that state the board is good for beginners. I've only had the board for a few days, but here are my comments: + Shipping was fairly quick. + The packaging for the board was a bit sloppy, but I suppose I can't complain because the board arrived undamaged. + The bottom decal looks high quality in person, as does the design on the grip tape. + The board functions properly; there are no defects that I noticed. + The board flexes quite a bit when I stand on it, more than I initially expected, but this appears to be normal based on the other reviews I've read. + The turning radius is quite a bit wider than I would like, but I suppose I'll get better at turning with practice, and adjusting the bearings is also an option from what I hear. Overall, the product that I received met all of my expectations. I just hope it's durable enough to last for a year at least. I'll update this review if it ends up breaking in the near future.

I am still breaking my board in but it rides good and is very stable. I bought this to commute with on board my ride is about 3.7 miles each way. I enjoy the ride and missed boarding, haven’t skated is about 10 years. Great exercise and cardio as well. As of now 11/30/23 I have covered more than 1000 miles on my board and have nothing but positive things to say about it, this board is fairly sturdy and a highly confidence inspiring ride. Most days I try to ride about 10 miles, as the weather continues to get colder that is getting harder to do consistently. I would definitely recommend this board to anyone who wants to get into long boarding but wants to keep their cost to start low. I will be replacing my bearings in the near future the ones the board came with are solid but after a few rides getting caught out in the rain the bearings aren’t quite as awesome as they once were, although no surprise there bearings don’t like getting stuff inside.

Good board, it rides well and does everything I need it to, smooth ride, stable, nice carves too, but the design on the bottom is super low quality, like doesn’t look good at all, kinda embarrassing to take it outside. I’ll add a photo when I get home

I bought this board during the beginning of quarantine since I had previously wanted to learn how to skate during my first college semester and had several friends who already had skateboard/longboards and figured this could be a nice way to go outside while “socially distancing” ourselves while being able to exercise. (yes ik big run on sentence). Anyways, i have been skating a lot (2-4 a week) and this board is really great for its price. I paid about $60 and it is still functioning as well as it came out of the box. The trucks did not need any adjustment for me/my style of riding. I will admit the designs/grip tape were all slightly off centered and that annoyed me a bit but after going off curbs and using the board a bunch i don’t really notice anymore. This board is great for beginners and is really easy to balance/learn how to skate compared to better/higher quality boards that cousy 2-3x the price. I have gone down steep hills, long flat paths and it works well. I did crash a lot in the beginning leading to both sides of the board splitting a little (bad quality plywood but hey, it’s $60) but other than that i would totoally recommend this board as a first time board.

Longboard showed up quickly and as described, which is great. The bushings that come on the board are 78a, which is way too soft for me (5'10 man, 220lbs) so I switched them out for 93a bushings to great results. The 78a bushings are ideal for folks under 125lbs, or who like a really soft riding board. I am neither of those people, but I knew that going in so no surprises for me. Swapping out the bushings is super easy and straight forward. Wheels and bearings are good beginner quality, people like to talk about swapping out to better (and faster) bearings but seem to forget that this is specifically a beginner board. While these wont roll as smoothly or quickly as name brand bearings, they will also help you build confidence and skill before picking up speed. Id recommend at least a few outing before even considering bearing replacements. Have a few sessions on the board with the stiffer bushings and havent had any of the cracking or splintering others report and again, I am H E A V Y for this board. For the money, I dont think that you could have much better of a space to start.

So I have never used a Longboard before. Actually, I have never used any board before. So for starting up, I thought of buying it and it's an incredible experience. As a novice, I just loved the amount of area I have to adjust my feet. The board is very stable and doesn't creeks weird sounds like other boards in the market. It is rock solid sturdy and feels very robust. I have used it even in a bit of snow and everything goes well. The wheels are really nice and wide which helps in initial balancing. When it comes to the design of the board, it really good and grabs the attention. I would recommend it for daily use and even on the college campus. Despite its length, it is super easy to turn it and it can take sharp turns. I love the artwork which is at the back of it. In all its a great board and I am just happy that it's the first board I bought. Superb job. I would buy again for gifting it to my younger brother, especially because it arrived earlier than expected.

Update 2: Taking 2 stars away again. I thought I checked everything when I updated the previous review (Update 1), but I missed one thing. I didn't disassemble the hanger! When I did, I found the pivot pins, both front & rear, are half painted (pictures attached). I also can see a flat casting hole on the pins, which will gradually eat up the rubber pivot cups. I think this is due to a misassigned milling/turning machine - a sign of low-quality production and/or lack of quality control. One more thing. I thought Minority uses Volador trucks, but I couldn't find Volador logo on this Volador truck-looking unit. I didn't disassemble the truck, so it might be on the bottom side, but that was not the case for my Volador board. Update 1: I gave it another try and ordered a longboard again. This time the longboard looks ok. There were a few big air bubbles under the sandpaper tape, but it stuck on the board after a few rubs. All the threads and nuts are fine, there was no chip or dent on the board (nor box). I guess you just have to order and return repeatedly until you get a board without defect. This time I ordered a different model (Love) from the previous one (Alps). As the picture shows, this one is actually a drop-down AND drop-through board, so the board sits very low. I bought this for my 6YO boy, so the low clearance is not an issue. However, if you are an adult, this board (Love) won't roll without scratching the belly. Original Review: I carefully inspected the package, from the box to the little screws and nuts as soon as I received it because I read some negative reviews on this product. I'm glad I did! I found one of the wheel nuts was stuck (picture attached) - wouldn't fasten nor loose. I also found a chip on the sandpaper tape on the deck. Since the box was in a good condition, I can conclude the chip was from the Amazon warehouse or the seller (HongHenry Distribution). The print on the bottom was in low quality (picture attached). Not sure if that's the just resolution. It looked like they copied the picture with a photocopier multiple times before they used it to produce the template. Very disappointing.

I bought this as my first Downhill Longboard and was surprised from the start by the great sense of balance and sturdiness. Within a few days of riding it I was already comfortable enough to ride it with ease on both level terrains and hills. I enjoyed riding this basically everyday following it's arrival. When I got a chance to show my board to my more advanced longboarding friends, they too were actually impressed with the board and said that they liked mine more than there own! After a couple months, my board still rides extremely well and I am very satisfied with my purchase, Thank you for making such an excellent board at such a great price. I would say this board is great for beginners and the more advanced skater alike.
