I got this for my first car back in January, and it works great! My iPhone 5S has a case with one of those sticky pockets on the back to hold my license. I just slip the magnet in the pocket so I don't have to use the sticker part. The magnet part that goes in the car is next to my radio on a smooth surface. I have had no issues at all. My car has gotten super warm in the sun, and my car has experience a lot of cold weather and the magnet hasn't fallen off. Because the magnet that I put in my phone pocket isn't stuck to the phone, it does slide out, but I'm not too concern about losing because I still have extra. Good product, and sleek. I like how small and convenient it is!

UPDATE: As I indicated in my previous review, the backing on these is extremely difficult to remove, as the adhesive goes all the way to the edge of a type of rubber cushion on the back of the magnet, and the protective backing also goes all the way to the edge. In my first purchase I destroyed the rubber backing on two magnets trying to get the back off, and I was very frustrated.Now, I have to say that this is a new and different thing in today's day and age: a company that actually listens to their customers and cares about their satisfaction with a product!! After leaving my first review, this company reached out to me about my comments, apologized that I was unhappy, and offered to send me a replacement or return my money. Because I was eventually able to use the magnets simply by using command strips instead of the pre-installed backing, I didn't feel it was necessary, or appropriate, for the company to return my money, and because a replacement would not solve the problem with the backing, I didn't need that, either. I thanked them, explained my problem the best I could, and went on about my day.To my surprise, not long after that, the company contacted me again to let me know that they had updated the product, and they would like to send me the new version to see if the problem had been corrected. I don't believe I have ever had this happen before, and was impressed that they took the time to listen and make changes.The updated version of these magnets includes a small tab on the backing to allow you to get a hold on the backing to better remove it. On my first try, I ended up pulling the tab off without pulling the backing off at all, and I responded to the company again with my thoughts, feeling really bad because the update was not successful. It turns out, though, after my second try, that you just have to be aware of the original problem with the rubber cushion and the very strong adhesive, and rather than pulling up on the tab, like removing a sticker, you have to pull the tab straight across the back, more like you're "unrolling" it from the back of the magnet. On my second try, I found that the pull tab did seem to solve the problem, the backing came off quickly and cleanly, and I was able to more easily install the magnets.I have spent far more money on far more expensive products and gotten a basic, "Sorry you're unhappy," kind of response from the companies behind them, who simply return my money and go on with whatever they're doing. I was more impressed by this company's outreach and customer service than I have been by any company in a long time.The product itself, as I said in my original rating, is fantastic. It holds very well, and I now have them mounted in my office and my bedroom, as well as in other rooms of my house, so that my phone has a dedicated place to be when it's not in my pocket or in my hand. On the strength of the product alone, I would most definitely recommend these magnets, but on the company's commitment to providing a useful product to their customers, I wish I could go higher than five stars!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Some of the simplest things can knock a product rating down, and in this case, it's not because of the product quality at all, but because of the ease of use.All the other ratings I've seen here have been short and very positive. I, too, am happy with the magnets, themselves. They hold strong enough to keep my phone firmly in place, and they even support my 10-inch tablet. The metal plates provided are pretty much what you would expect with any magnetic holder system. They're very thin, and they apply easily to the phone.The problem I encountered on all of these (I ordered two sets) was that exposing the adhesive in order to place the magnets was an impossible task that took me up to ten minutes per magnet. Because the base of these magnets is a kind of rubber back, and the protective backing is some kind of very thin kind of plastic backing, trying to peel off the backing results in tearing up parts of the sides of the rubber back. The backing is cut to exactly the same size as the rubber backing, and it doesn't have a substantial edge you can grab on to. You have to basically use a fingernail (or if you don't have any, some other small tool) to gently pull the edge of the plastic with. Even when you have a small edge started, you can't just grab it and pull it off, because the rubber back starts stretching and tearing where you're trying to remove the plastic back, so if you just try to grab the edge and pull, you will just tear the rubber back. I actually ruined the first magnet I tried to use because the entire rubber backing pulled off the back of the magnet, and I still couldn't actually get the plastic off the adhesive side. I'll have to hope that I can manage to hang it up using Command strips.I would highly recommend to the company that they cut the plastic protector a little bigger than the rubber base, or provide a tab that can be easily grabbed and removed. Because while I do like the magnets and the metal plates provided, I would not buy these again because of the difficulty and frustration in trying to expose the adhesive.If you do not have a lot of patience, or need to install these in a hurry or in a short span of time, I recommend looking at something else.

Works great! Went on easy, both magnet and metal plate. The adhesive on the magnet is really strong, too, but I was able to pry it off with a bit of force when I wanted to re-position it. I was surprised that no residue was left behind, but I would not recommend doing pulling it off too many times, as I'm sure the adhesive would degrade. The magnet itself is very strong, too. I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 with a hard shell Speck case, and the weight of it is no problem at all for this magnet. I did, however, put the metal piece directly on the back of the case, rather than putting it on the inside. I have not had any technical problems while using the magnet, either -- phone or car. On the whole, I am very pleased with my purchase, and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a good phone mount for their car.

This is a very good product. The magnets are very strong and the fit and finish is near perfect. The rubber surface is grippy and prevents your device from sliding around. The adhesive that comes with the kit is also very strong.I have full confidence that this product will do it's job for many years to come.My only complaint is that it's a bit thick, but that's just my personal preference.Overall, an excellent buy!

I’m only replacing it because I need a bigger magnet to match the charging circle on my new phone case. It’s been perfect for my use.

Extremely strong magnet and very good, very thin 3M adhesive make these work very well for more than just phones. I used two of them as mounts for a camera and a dash-top heads-up display. Very nice, firm mounting, and the material on the surface of the magnets effectively prevent the device mounted from moving due to vibration, etc. Recommended.

Stronger than some smaller and cheaper ones I bought first. These work much better! Have the flat plate mounted under a slim phone case (with popup stand) and still strong enough to hold phone securely.The red "3M" backing plastic is nearly impossible to remove from the adhesive side. The red tabs broke off almost instantly and I had to scratch and claw at the temporary plastic covering for a long time to finally get them off for each magnet. See the photo. Not good. Damaged the sticky pad a bit.I'll probably look for another brand next time.

I've been using for a few days in my work truck. Very impressed so far. I've driven on some very bumpy roads, at different speeds, and phone does not move. A couple times hitting super large bumps or potholes it shifted a very small amount, like 1/8 an inch or less. I used the large rectangular magnet in my case. I just used 2 pieces of tape to hold in place, instead of peeling self stick off. As others have said, then magnet can be reused. The magnet on dash went on fine after cleaning. One wet wipe was dry upon opening, but a small issue. If the stickiness ever gives out on the mount, well, that's what a couple drops of super glue are made for. Again, very impressed so far. I doubt too many others will experience rougher roads than we have here in Wisconsin, especially in winter. It is so convenient for navigation to be able to have phone mounted at my fingertips next to steering wheel. Will mount other base in personal vehicle at some point and would purchase again without hesitation.

I love this product and it works great. It can hold my iPhone 7 strongly. It's really convenient to use it to navigate by my phone when I was driving a car. One purchase I got two product inside and that price is worthy. Love it!

Only had these a few days but they seem well worth the money.Very easy to install and the magnet holds my phone in place like a charm.I have a Hoomil cover for my phone which I was slightly concerned about when I wanted to mount my phone in my car with this thing - but the magnets are strong enough to hold the phone, the case wide open with several cards filling the case pockets.The kit thankfully also comes with two types of metal plates - circular (about the size of a Pop-socket) and a rectangle plate.

Excellent hold. I wanted to remove it as not in correct place. VERY difficult as such a good strong contact.Sure it would last when put in correct place first time.

Perfect, very strong magnets without the danger of the phone falling off. I put the magnet inside of my case, without sticking it down still works perfectly and is in no danger of falling off the dash

I previously tried a different brand (name begins Auk...), but they were rubbish.The item here is much better. Nothing protruding from the surface so the phone sits flush against the grippy front. Proper VHB tape on the back.A completely different experience and a really great product.
