Excellent First Machine
Absolutely love my LaserPecker 2. I’ve had it for a few days and found it an absolute joy to use. Plenty of people can tell you the limitations of the machine, but if you’re new to laser engraving this is an awesome unit to learn with. -The app is easy to use. -The speed is amazing -the small size makes it easy to use anywhere -The price is a bargain for what it can do I’m hooked and I can’t wait to keep experimenting and learning. Definitely recommend if you’re getting into crafting

10 minutes out of the box and ready to rock
This is a great little device for those who do not want to fiddle around with XYZ coordinates, positioning, major setup pains and just want something that does a good job ... immediately... out of the box. The entire setup took maybe 5 minutes. Download the app to your phone, connect via blue tooth and you're ready to go. It is truly as simple as it looks. I made up a couple of quick logos online and downloaded them, emailed them to my phone and used them directly in the app. Worked perfectly first time. I highly recommend this product!

CAN NOT BE BEAT FOR THE PRICE! OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
I am absolutely blown away by how compact and light weight the unit is. It made me skeptical at first since I doubted anything this size could handle harder materials like stone (but it does with ease!). Second, the quality of build and intuitive controls make this a breeze to set up and start operating. As others have said, you can be up and going within 10-15minutes and that's taking your time. After doing some test runs on the provided materials (also very much appreciated), I set up a slate coaster to see how it would perform. Initially I had set the unit on too high a resolution (2k) and too small but once I figured out my mistake, the subsequent tester was so easy! A few things I wanted to bring up (not so much that they are issues as little grievances). The included hood with fan is much appreciated but it's so effective that I can not see the previews. I guess raising/lowering to view isn't too complicated, but I just want to be sure I'm not wearing things out prematurely. *EDIT* Customer service contacted me and explained how to adjust the brightness so previews are legible through the hood. Super easy adjustment on the app and I can't believe I didn't see it* Last, if it would be possible to have increments labeled on the laser's stand for quick reference, that would be appreciated (I used blue painter's tape to mark my settings for now). Overall, this has been a great investment. I have branded coasters (slate), leather patches, glasses and stainless mugs, and my phone cover with flawless results. It'd be hard to beat this level of quality at this price. You can certainly find cheaper units out there but why waste your time and money on inferior quality results.

Mot Sure No helpful training
Product may be fine but how would I know? You’ve got power, depth, number of passes, all affect the final result. One might think they would provide some good tutorials. Not so much! I think this is three guys and a truck duck because the appplication is pathetic and there’s no guidance. You can always tell how professional the organization is by the quality of documentation. They don’t have any. What little there is is in ooor quality English.

Great for a first laser
I almost didn't buy this, but a good friend of mine recommended that I give it a try. He had an LP2 and upgraded to an LP4. I bought this about 3 weeks ago and have been using it daily, without much issue. This laser has cut/etched everything that I've tried it with: glass, different types of hardwood, pine, leather, plastic, stainless steel, etc. You have to be patient and willing to try different settings of power, depth, and resolution; those three combined make the speed at which it processes. It seems that many had issues with glass. Here's what I found that works for me: 100% power 45% depth 1k resolution, or higher And, the most important thing is a dull, flat black coating on the glass. I use automobile primer, etch the glass with the laser, then clean off the primer with mineral spirits. I've also tried it with acrylic paint, which works, and can be washed off with water, but I had difficulty getting a thin coat. The primer is much easier. Again, these have to be flat black, not glossy. Glossy makes it to hard to see the preview, as the laser reflects off of the coating. With regards to the software, yes, it's rudimentary at best! Personally, I use Inkscape (free, open-source) to make my designs, export them as PNG files, and bring them into LaserPecker Design Space as images, place them where I want in the preview, and let it run. It works quite well. If you're looking for something that's compatible with LightBurn, this isn't it. This laser only works with the proprietary software. That's it. The bluetooth will disconnect is you stray to far away from the machine, but the machine keeps right on moving along, but you lose the percentage complete info. Not a big deal, to me. My only issue is that, supposedly, you can do a long press on the buttons to raise and lower the laser head. This works for about about 5% of the time in the up direction, and 25% of the time, in the down direction. So, I try, and try, and try, and eventually just press one at a time, raising/lowering it 1 mm at a time. I've learned to be patient, so it lost a star for that business. It seems to work better when it's warmer in the room, but maybe I'm imagining that. :-)

NO SUPPORT FOR MONTHS? Updated - gets worse, support horrible
I’m going to cut to the chase. The software is complete garbage. You want to make a simple change before you engrave? No problem - start over from the beginning. That’s not exaggeration. Want to line up material for engraving? Can’t use magnetic pieces to align repetitive engraves… want to engrave again after you did one? Maybe it will let you, maybe it won’t. It disconnects from Bluetooth often. The roller assembly is a joke. Items repetitively skip while rotating, making it impossible to engrave. The adjustable stand is finicky… The built in focus lever? Yeah it’s accurate about 50% of the time. Sorry but this just won’t do. It’s now a paper weight. And I’m out over $1000 counting accessories. Update 1/14/2025 If you have issues, they will first offer you an insulting discount on a newer model, like $200 off their $4000 LP5. If that won’t fly, you will need to spend countless days and weeks attempting to get a reply about your concerns. When you eventually get a reply, you will be asked to spend countless hours working with their technicians to diagnose the issues even though you already know what the issues are in great detail. This will span several days as well, with spotty almost non existent responses once again. Negative stars Amazon? Please implement negative stars Update 2/8/2025 Company has been out almost a month with Chinese New Year. No help, no support, I have been unable to use the expensive paperweight for months now. Avoid at all costs folks Update 3/1/2025 NO ONE has reached back out to me regarding my issues. I waited for the Chinese new year to end, and still nothing. XTool, Glewphy, Wecreate, these are ALL better options with much better support and care about their customers

Fun useful laser marker / engraver
I have used this for a few days and enjoyed it. I tried it with PC, Mac, iPhone, and Android. The software is a little old fashion but works well. I think they are saying there is a software upgrade coming soon. I did not take a star off for the software, because it works even though it could be easier than it currently is. This was my first laser marker/engraver and it was a great way to learn. Here are a few things that I did not understand that may be helpful to others. 1) Different lasers work better for marking or engraving (cutting) on different materials. 2) This laser is good for wood, colored paper, leather, etc. 3) It does not work well on shiny materials like white paper, white plastic, shiny metal, etc - unless you use a marker or paint to color the shiny part darker first, then use the laser. The problem with this is that the maker gets embedded into the material. I am looking forward to using the Laser Pecker 3 for metal and plastic - but that was just released. 4) It did work Ok on darker colored plastic, but not shiny white plastic which is what I really wanted it for. For the price and functionality, I think this is a great product. I have not used the other add-ons like the rollers, etc. but they look cool. Customer support is great! They are responsive and quick.

Quick and easy
The reason I chose this laser engraver was because of simplicity of use. My computer has trouble downloading software and I primarily use my phone and tablets for work. While most other engravers require light burn to run, LaserPecker only requires their own app. They have a feature where you can can paint or draw your own creation (I drew the Trogdor (Man-Dragon… Dargon man…)) on the app and it engraves it for you. You can also upload pictures or screen shots to engrave. It engraves in great detail! My process for doing engravings starts with making a design on an app like sketchbook and then taking a screen shot, and uploading it to the app and PRESTO! It also has pre suggested settings for the material that you are engraving on. Over all, I love it. Only negative is the limited engraving space. But for me it’s the perfect size. The laserpecker it’s simple enough for beginners like me and complex enough for seasoned pros
