Galco Combat Master Belt Holster for 1911 5-Inch Colt, Kimber, para, Springfield

As soon as I opened the package I could tell this was going to be good. I was not wrong. The fit of my full size 1911 S&W is perfect! Not so tight it is hard to replace after firing. Not so loose the gun comes loose, when walking around (Its my EDC pistol). I think it holds the gun at just the right height off my hip and, as I wear it more, is conforming to my shape perfectly, so helping with printing. It solid and thick leather with a great suede leather interior that feels like it polishes the gun every time I replace it. And a shiny, beautiful, exterior with nothing to snag on clothing. No doubt this will be doing it's job for a long number of year to come, and looking great whilst doing it.

Great holster. Clean looking and holds my 1911 snugly. It releases when necessary. I am in the process of buying a second one designed for a revolver I own.

I purchased this for use with a Sig Sauer full size 1911. The fit is extremely tight to the point of not being useable; even after following the Galco recommended break-in stretching and using the Galco "Draw-Ez". This appears to be due to the non traditional geometry at the top of the Sig 1911 slide. Sig does also offer a line of traditional 1911's that I expect would fit this holster nicely. In all fairness to Galco, they do not list the Sig 1911 on their web site as one of the pistols that this holster is supposed to fit, but I thought I would give it a try anyway.This story does however have a happy ending. The holster appears to be excellent quality. It holds nice and tight to the body at the 3 to 5 o'clock position, and is very comfortable. I would expect this holster to be excellent for continuous everyday use if that is what is required. I recently purchased a S&W PC1911 that fits this holster perfectly, so this will now be dedicated to to a different 1911 than originally intended. I expect that the Sig 1911 may require a Milt Sparks or similar custom holster.I would definitely recommend this holster for use with the full size 1911; just check that slide is the traditional 1911 design.

First thing Is It's leather .Two It's made In the U.S.A.Three It fits great to the body even for a smaller person like myself 5'8 160 pounds .Four It's not kydex unless you like that kind of holster , which I haven't came around to yet.All an all this Is a great OWB holster , It can possibly last a lifetime even In harsh duty , It's double stitched which Is also a plus .If you have any experience with galco you'd know they rarely mess up I'll be a loyal customer forever . Every Holster they make Is great . Also In my opinion leather will save on your gun's finish compared to kydex or other holsters for me anyway . Fit's my RIA GI Milspec to a T . People complain about the break In period It took me 4 days to get It broke In and that was me just Unholstering , Reholstering about 15-20 times a day for 4 days and now It's smooth as silk . You will get leather shavings on your gun but you know It's shaping to your gun . Last thing I got the free shipping (cheapo lol) It said It would be delivered via fed ex(fed ex Is terrible In my location anyways) In two weeks which I was disappointed , but wa-la package at my door four days later which made this even better !!

No remorse on this purchase.Needed something to hold a service pistol for a tactical class.I've used kydex IWB holsters in the past but wanted leather for the OWB holster the class required.This one fits well sits on the holster belt at the correct position to present the grips to my hand.I'm able to set it so that the belt enters the holster goes into a loop on the pants , then back into the holster loop then into another pants loop, so its all well supported and solid.As far as the 4 star comfort rating , all I can say is , I have a 3lb2oz package on my hip, let's get real. This ain't a pair of bed room slippers.When I first got it I thought that it had too much retention, which is good , in some ways right , you don't want to drop the iron, but that has started to work in much more easily with just a bit or work.My guns tend to have target sights so I was at first concerned that the slide wasn't setting completely into the holster because of the rear target sight , but that too changed in a short time.Long story short. This tool is working !

Got this holster for a 1911 full size (lefty) in the brown finish. Leather is slick & glossy & beautiful. Nice double stitching. Gun fit perfectly with little need for break-in. It's not suede lined or anything; just unfinished leather on the inside so if you have a fancy blued gun it could wear the finish I suppose with enough time & use. Great holster for $70.

This is one awesome holster!I needed something for defensive handgun training at Frontsight. In these courses you don't want snaps and flaps in the way. They will make you tape them out of the way. I did not want a plastic or resin holster as they might scratch or unduly rub and wear the weapon.I've had this holster for 6 months now. I carry it in my business almost daily. I also perform safety drills which include draw, load, present to ready, unload and re-holster. I do these drill several times a day with my Kimber Gold Match II full size (5"). The weapon is at just the right height with that slight tilt forward. So this holster has seen lots of movement of the weapon, probably thousands by now, and it still fits snugly yet has a super-smooth draw to it. The lip does not collapse so there is no worry with re-holstering 'blind'.As to how the holster fits the hip - you just hardly know it is there even when carrying. The pistol feels snug against you, yet does not touch you. I'm not sure how to describe it. It just feels right.
