Leaves clothes soft without softener
So far Im liking this product. Washed 3 loads of laundry. Has a nice scent although after going through the dryer it loses its scent. That’s not a big deal for me. I don’t use softener as it basically leaves a slick of something on the clothing fabric-yuck! However I noticed clothing, sheets, towels all felt softer! I think it’s because this detergent has minimal, clean ingredients. Cleaned everything well. One thing- wish the price was a little lower. I’m doing laundry for 2 so I won’t run through it quickly.👍

Cleans well and smells good
Before I get to the rest of my review, I want to put this here for anyone who might have the same issue. My front loading washer smells. Ive done everything I should and when I switched to Meliora, I have noticed SUCH a reduction in smell. My thought was perhaps, just as the overuse of regular laundry detergent can feed bacteria in clothing, maybe it's the cause in the washer too. This has ingredients that both neutralize and clean and some of them are things you might actually use to clean those gunked up components of a washer. Moving on, I picked Meliora because it was one of the very few truly zero waste detergents. Many are powder and natural, but in bags or pods. Which still contribute to plastic. And I've love my experience so far. It smells great and seems as clean as any other detergent. The lovely smell doesn't seem to stay after being dried so I do wish they had a version of laundry "softener" or dryer sheets, but I've ordered some from another zero waste company to help on that side. It feels really great to be able to make a more environmentally friendly choice and have an awesome product too. *ps in relation to the washer, the smell actually comes from when the water drains into the standpipe in my case. So if you can't figure out why you've cleaned your drum and door gasket and it still smells, this could be a culprit

Sustainable with no plastics
I purchased in order to move away from plastics in packaging and pods. I typically use close to 2 T. for a large load of laundry. It does not suds up as much as my pods did, but it still gets my laundry clean. Per my research, powder works better than laundry sheets. I like that it is unscented. The one downside is that the powder sometimes seems to get in the air when I'm scooping it out and putting it into the machine. Sometimes I'll put a mask on briefly to avoid breathing in any powder, but it's not that bad even if I don't. Worth keeping plastics out of my laundry and supporting sustainable packaging.

Good product -give it a try
I bought this after reading reviews online of safe/clean laundry products. I purchased the unscented, refill. I really like it. I found my own scoop to use. It has dissolved and left no residue. I even purchased the lemon, peppermint and booster from a different store. Seems to clean fine. I do not know if there are suds because there is no window in my machine. Clothes seem fresh when they come out and clean. So far I like it. It is like old school since it is in powder form., which I haven’t used since the 90’s. Actually seems to clean as good as or better than the safe\clean liquid detergents I have been using.

Most impressive laundry detergent
Bought this when the German Persil detergent we've used for years wouldn't ship fast enough for us when we were out. (See below.) We've only done a few loads of laundry with this detergent. So far, it seems impressive indeed. We have used the one tablespoon recommended for normal loads; if we felt we had a dirtier load, or a larger load, we'd use two. The detergent works well in our city water. Clothes appear to come out softer without the used of any fabric softeners. Colors appear bright without the use of the additional whiteners. Previously, our standard was German Persil (NOT! the US version), either in powder or "megapearls." We had grown accustomed to using it before our HE washer expired, and a neighbor gave us a top-loader for free (hard to beat that). We never used huge quantities of Persil for washing, and appreciated its economy. Meliora seems to work every bit as well, if not better than German Persil. The only downsides I see is that the scent does not last through the rinse cycle well, and it's too easy to grab the top of the can, risking the lid coming off. Other than those two minor issues, I'd say it's worth a try. Made in the USA as well, in Chicago.

Laundry Powder Usage
I truly love this product! Its safe and environmentally friendly. Our skin loves the product. It definitely cleans all my laundry very well. I use this product with white vinegar and it works well together. My clothes are soft after the wash and dry. I love the Lavender and Lemon scent (both favorites). Just wish the scents would last after my laundry is dried. The only negative I have is that I need to use more than the recommended usage of laundry powder for my laundry when washing unfortunately. I followed the usage instructions and I was disappointed to see that it wasn't enough to clean my laundry. My washer is HE and I use the powder in the tumbler with the laundry and not the dispenser. I do not use the laundry powder in the dispenser as it does not wash into the laundry. Instead it remains in the dispenser. This is not a big deal for me because Im fine using it combined with the laundry. I tend to go through one container per week. We are a family of 5 (two adults and three children) and laundry duty is daily here between sheets, blankets, towels and clothes. I always have large to extra large loads of laundry. Im going to keep the 5 stars because the product is everything we hoped for and I strongly recommend it for other families that are health conscious and want to use clean products. Realistically speaking, If you are a penny pincher, this may not be the product for you. It is pricey when you are using one container per week. In my case, the positive outweighs the negative. Hope this helps those contemplating on buying this product.

Not hypoallergenic
Does it say hypoallergenic? No, it does not. Fragrance free and dye free sounds like it should be hypoallergenic, but it doesn’t mean that. I’m experiencing a huge breakout at the moment. That’s my fault; I should have been more diligent in seeing where it didn’t say sensitive skin or hypoallergenic. If I were grading it based on that, it would be one star. As I mentioned, though, I didn’t properly vet it. So I’m grading based on it’s own merits. Consider the above a PSA. It does a decent job cleaning adult clothes, but doesn’t get those tough stains the way the big brands do. I might not look further than “hey, this load is clean, but we have kids, and they’re not gentle with their clothes. Looks like we’re going to have to rewash those. Do you know how many clothes we need to wash on a regular basis? I don’t need to rewash stuff. I really don’t need to rewash stuff. I get my quota without that.

Free from harmful ingredients
Good ingredients. Can't find anything particularly harmful for someone with eczema. Just wish the price was a little bit lower.

Safe but expensive
I purchased this to stash in my motorhome as part of our emergency supplies ... We live in a wildfire zone and, with all our animals, if we were evacuated, we would likely just camp with the motorhome until we could return home. Recently, we've seen people evacuated for months at a time and our emergency supplies list grew. I needed a detergent that we would be able to use in buckets and that could safely be poured out onto the ground without being an environmental issue. Upon lots and lots of reading, I arrived at two brands that fit the bill, only one of which shipped to Canada. So, the reason for the longs story is to let you know that this brand has everything I wanted and was looking for, but I can't really attest to its function as it will remain sealed until we need it. The only reason for the docked star is because it is ludicrously expensive. The other brand (that doesn't ship to us) was somewhere around $20 for roughly the same amount. If I needed this for day to day use, I would never spend this much money on it.
