Excellent Bird Lighting Bulb
I have four parakeets and have been using this type of lamp bulb for several years now. I had been using another brand but the price went up enough to be willing to try another brand. I took the plunge and selected this model for having some of the same uva/uvb ratings along with the cost being much better. It shipped fast and works well in a utility clamp style light fixture. The base fits standard size sockets and is a bit brighter than the old one but that's normal as this type of bulb will loose it's effectivness after a year normally and start to dim but so gradual you don't notice until you change it out with a new one. My bird's like the light and it's healthy for them as well being indoors all the time they really need the extra light that this bulb will supply, I keep mine on from 8am till 8pm plugged in to a timer so it's convenient and routine for my feathered friends.

This will change your birds for the good.
This bulb made a significant difference in my parakeets health and mood. I couldn't figure out why they were always so cranky and their feathers weren't growing well.Then I read that they needed a lot of light.So, this is what I did...I hung the light on top of the cage, connected it to an Alexa enabled plug. Then I set the Alexa enabled plug to automatically turn on and off according to the sunrise and sunset but on a 15 min dim, so it gradually darkens or lightens. Doing this turned my birds completely around. They started molting soon thereafter, and grew in a ton of feathers, they're also much more friendlier.

I received the bulb on Tuesday and it lasted until Saturday. Not too happy

Be sure the size of the cage.
Using it for a Amazon parrot and fairly large cage. 24 x 28 x 48 high . It would probably be best for a small cage.
