Clairol Root Touch-Up by Natural Instincts Permanent Hair Dye, 7 Blonde

Recently discovered this ammonia-free version of the Clairol Root Touch-up I have been using for years. I love that it doesn’t have the harsh ammonia smell and am hoping that it will be more gentle on my hair which has been prone to breakage and thinning now that I am in my 60s. The dark blonde color matches perfectly and is very similar to the product that contains ammonia, however it does fade-out sooner than the other (original) version even though it says “permanent”. I am sticking with this Natural Instincts version and will use it more frequently (every 3 weeks instead of 4 weeks), hoping that removing ammonia will reduce or eliminate breakage over time.

Does not cover greys.

It was my fault not to read the amount of product before buying . It’s really for a touch up of roots because there is no way it can cover all my roots.With this amount It just covers less than half of my roots, so will need to do another color as soon as possible to finish my head.

I usually buy L'Oreal Excellence and works very well. I saw this product cheaper and only for the roots which is what I need. After applying, I was shocked to see that my hair had the dark hairline just the same way it was before using it. What a disappointment! I learned a lesson, the cheap always comes out expensive in the end. I am going back to my L'Oreal

Sometimes I use just half and it does the trick.

A great color

I left this product on my lots of gray for around 40 minutes. No ammonia, so I figured that would be fine. It covered very well. I am pleased. I recommend and will purchase again.

I ordered a few, and one was clearly a much darker color than it should be. Glad I had a back up to use!! I do like the lower chemical smell and the color does last.

This hair colour is the best I have ever used.

I like this product as it doesn't have an aggressive smell like others, and it's ammonia-free. It works fast, in only 20 minutes you are ready to go, and the coverage is 100%. I still need to see how the color holds in time, after multiple hair washes, but so far I am happy with the results! Looks like it is based only on natural vegetable ingredients - which I surely like!
