I’m a drummer with a substantial vintage cymbal collection. Cymbals are made from an alloy consisting of mainly brass with some copper and other metals. I’ve been trying to clean some of the worst looking ones lately without much luck at all. I decided to do a little “cymbal cleaner shoot out” to determine which, if any, of the brass tarnish removers worked well. I was especially interested in finding a product that was non-abrasive and could clean my cymbals up nicely without hours of hard “elbow grease” style rubbing and polishing. So I bought 5 different brass tarnish remover/cleaners and tried them all. 3 of them (Brasso, Hope’s, and “Lizard Spit, which is marketed specifically as a cymbal polish) appeared to be essentially identical. They looked the same, and were all equally ineffective …without a tremendous amount of effort. Even with a lot of effort, the results weren’t great. I also tried Tarn-X, which was better. But it didn’t restore the original look of the cymbal. I got the impression that on a more ideal matching metal, the Tarn-X would work very well. Maybe pure copper or silver?The last product to arrive on my doorstep was Flitz Brass and Copper Tarnish remover. I had all but given up on finding something that worked by this point. But this morning I read the directions and tried Flitz on the other side of the same cymbal that I had been testing all the other products on. You just spray it on and let it sit for about a minute, and then rinse it off. BOOM! I couldn’t believe it! In 1 minute, with no rubbing at all, it took off about 50 years worth of tarnish and made the cymbal look like new again! It works beautifully!I have a feeling that all of these polishes and tarnish removing products probably work very well on certain types of metal and for removing certain types of grime. But for tarnish on cymbals (mostly brass), nothing I have tried even comes close to Flitz. I can’t imagine that anything else could possibly work better.

I just reordered another bottle of this and the pump did not work at all. It was broken. I found a pump in the house that fit so I used that. Annoying, but returning it would be a hassle and lost days in my job projections. So I used that pump. This stuff transformed my outdoor kitchen and grill after a tough winter into a kitchen that looks brand new. I love it. It’s amazing. ! Everything is shinning like the day impurchases it two years ago. Definitely buy it. We live on the ocean so things get rusty quick including my front door knob and lock. Now it looks like the day I bought it Very happy. Very pleased

I had some very old brass. It was very tarnished from neglect. Thought I would try this product since it had some good reviews and I wanted something that was going to be easy. Do not waste your money! My very old tarnished brass remained very old tarnished brass after I was done. I ended up using bartenders friend that I had under my sink and the pieces look beautiful. Yes, it was a little more work, but well worth it. This did not work as expected. It was very disappointing. I would not buy this product again nor do I recommend it.

We thought these large brass candlesticks were ruined. We took them outside sprayed and rinsed them two or three times. In the close up picture the left piece is before spraying and the right piece is still wet from having been sprayed. Already a huge difference. The picture with all the pieces are after we used the Flitz Polish & Cleaner for metal & plastic. This took little time or effort to rub off the rest of the tarnish and oxidation and buff to a glossy shine. Amazing product! I highly recommend these two products.

This product will clean brass easily. It will rust other metals. My bottle was broken from the start though and returns were not easy. If you miss spray on metal it will corrode them. Water doesn’t cancel that reaction either. I was happy with the brass being cleaning, but didn’t like the rust on everything else.

It works well and with a convenient spray bottle.

I had heavy corrosion on copper pipe, needed a couple applications and sanding w sandcloth, cleaned well. Does give off an unpleasant gas and it will burn yr eyes and nose, but that is in description of product. I was satisfied w product.

It works almost instantly. No mess and great results. It's a no Brainerd. Value for money.

Muy satisfecho con el resultado del producto. Después de la aplicación del producto sobre el latón, se espera de 2 a 5 minutos y se pasa por un chorro de agua, yo lo hice dejando a bajo un recipiente y después sumergí nuevamente el latón agitando el recipiente. El latón sale como teñido de rojo como si el producto no hubiera hecho su trabajo.Finalmente lo talle enérgicamente con un trapo de micro fibra y el latón recupero su brillo original con algunas pequeñas imperfecciones. Muestro en las fotos el estado original y después de haber pulido con el trapo el acabado brillante muy satisfactorio

Ease and quickness of use

Cleans properly but Shine lasts for 2-3 days only. Life of cleaning with regular n cheap home made products is much more than this costly chemical

I love this product. It removed all the stubborn tarnishes with ease. I am planning to buy another bottle.
