Vigilant PPS-7B 125dB Personal Alarm with Keychain

Bought this model because it has a test button and thus can be operated for a brief burst with one hand. The purchase is to help train my cat not to scratch on the furniture rather than his scratching post as he seems to think a water spray bottle is a game! He stops scratching and is curious about the source of the sound, but he is hardly scared (or injured, I am happy to say). I can't imagine an attacker being scared off by this, but if those using them practice other safety measures it could be of help. It works by pulling out the chain and stops sounding when the chain is put back in the hole. The test button in the back is tiny and I doubt would ever go off by itself.
