Shooting Old Film Cameras: The Nikon F100 Paperback – December 23, 2012

This book is simply a picture book, and contains not much more than a collection of photographs, and certainly has nothing in the way of pointers or technical content of any benefit to owners of the Nikon F100 Camera.The author has written just one page of text, with only one paragraph describing the F100 35mm SLR Camera in the vaguest of terms. At the back of the book is another single page of text about the author and his achievements. There are five pages each containing a photo of a Nikon F100, followed by 102 pages each having a single photograph of the same female model, with only one wardrobe change in between photo shoots. None of the photographs have any notes accompanying them - I was expecting basic notes such as the lenses used, f stop, film type or other exposure details - but in this book we have zero captions to any of the photos, meaning that this book contains not much more than your average family photo album. Zip - Nothing - just photos.Unfortunately, as if the lack of information regarding the F100 isn't enough of an insult to the reader, the quality of printing is also very poor, with the pages being printed on plain matte stock with the majority of photographs having a blurred appearance. There is nothing indicative in the book that all of the photographs were actually taken using a Nikon F100 - this book could actually be re-titled to cover any Camera - simply by editing just the one paragraph mentioning the F100, and swapping out the five pages which contain uncaptioned photographs of one of Nikon's finest film cameras.Paul B. Moore has disappointed me considerably with his book, and it is one of the few books I have ever purchased that will not gain a place on my bookshelf - this book is truly a 'burn after reading' job.In summary, I can recommend this book to no-one. Anyone owning one of these cameras will gain nothing from it - it exists purely as a cash-cow for the author, who judging by the content, has little if anything to offer serious students of 35mm film photography. Many fine publications exist covering the specifics of the Nikon F100 SLR Film Camera along with its idiosyncrasies - this book is just not one of them.

This is not any tutorial nor guide. It is a scam. Bunch of pictures of some Asian female and nothing else.

A series of horrible photos and terrible descriptions. Don't waste any time on this. I glanced at this once and won't look again.

when I take the book I thing show me more info of camera Nikon F100 but wrong just a book is like photo magazine with one person and don't worry the book is free .....

Can only read about 1/3 of kindle version. Have tried on multiple devices. Book 4 stars otherwise if someone can fix the problem.

Only got to 54% and then this stupid review form popped up. I think Amazon needs to test books before allowing them to be downloaded.

This book is a blatant rip off. There is no information about shooting old film cameras contained in this book.There is 2 pages of blurb about the author of this book (about half of the text from the product description). Then lots of photo's of a model in various poses (the same model all the way through) with no information about how it was shot and not even the camera settings. Then 3 more pages of blurb (the other half of the text from the product description). Cue end of book.The author hasn't even bother to write anything new.How can he give a book a title and then write nothing about it?What's worse is this is a series of books.This author has written book after book all titled "Shooting Old Film Cameras". Each just has a different camera model tagged on the end of the title. The product description for each book is exactly the same.Does that mean every book in this series has identical content?So a simple word of advice to anyone looking at this book.... DON'T BUY IT....!

No compre esto ni por asomo, es un fraude de libro. Solo se ven fotos malas de esta japonesa dentro, nada más. No vale ni para un libro. This book is a fraud, you will only see bad quality pictures of this japanese woman, nothing else. Do not even try to buy it.

Este libro en lugar de ser un libro sobre la Nikon F100 solo contiene una serie de horribles fotos de una chica japonesa es desde luego una tomadura de pelo y un engaño.

I bought this book with hopes that I could learn how to use my f100 as well as learn some tips and tricks however the book offered no insight in using the f100. Very disappointed.
