Good and not so good, not great (and I really wanted them to be)
Ok, so after trying many earbuds and watching many reviews I got my hands on these to try them. In short, they do some things well, and some (of the more important things) no so good. The good:# Styling - they look great# Materials - high quality, matt, rubberised# Wireless charging (although this isn't indicated on the case)# Bluetooth v5.2 (currently the latest) - fast connection# Comfort - light and VERY comfortable.# Spatial sound is good (but see below, on ONE EQ mode only)# EQ between ANC on/off remains constant (some earbuds change sound profile with ANC on or off). The not so good (not bad, just not class-leading):# No in-ear detection (they don't stop playing when you remove them)# ANC - average, can still hear a lot of general traffic noise with ANC on. No adjustment of ANC level - weak > strong# Transparency - outside sounds are OK, but you own voice is very muffled and "in your head"... they need to have a "loop-back" of your own voice to make it more natural. Jabra have this.# Strange connection issues - sand up and they are fine, no connection breaks, now kneel down and the connection breaks up.# NO multipoint support (cannot connect 2 devices)# The buds remain Bluetooth visible sometimes - even when back in the case, so the connection remains with your phone. The App - Buggy and limited.# Often only one earbud will connect when you take them out of the case... the last one you remove. It can be either bug, so it's not a fault with the buds. You end up with audio in one-ear only.# The Hearing profile ID features is absolute trash!... it gets it completely wrong. I;m 55, so need more treble, but it actually knock the treble back down.# Custom EQ profile doesn't always get selected. It works when you set it up... but when you go back to use the buds again a day later, it shows as selected in the app but isn't active! - it sounds terrible, as if it;s using some in-between EQ mode. You have to toggle the EQ mode to get it to register you want the custom EQ mode on.# Spatial sound feature is very good, but ONLY in the Balanced EQ mode (i.e. no EQ at all). If you use it on your own custom EQ it makes the sound significantly worse.# Poor custom Equalizer in the app - is it only 5 band, and the frequency ranges are al wrong. It consider low-end Bass to be 200Hz... it would be more like 75-100Hz. So increasing the bass results in very muddy bass that overflows into the Mids. Most of the EQ settings are controlling the Mids - which don't nee d a lot doing to them tbh. SO very limited.# No control of touch gestures - even though they are all there - including skip tracks, play/pause, volume +/- and ANC mode, you cannot choose what gesture does what.# No "find my buds" feature, no ANC or Transparency adjustment.I summary - these are VERY comfortable and EQ'd right can give good sound, which is well balanced. They also look great, as does the case. My recommendation would be leave them on the shipping Balanced EQ and Spatial ON, and you will get good sound. Trebles are detailed and not harsh. Most of the flaws in this product could be addressed with a firmware update and major APP update. I hope they do, but I haven't seen any updates in a month or two, so not sure how active their software devs are.I really wanted these to impress, they are good, but could be great if they. Are they worth £99?... at this level you have many choices, I would say JUST about, but £79 would be a more comfortable price point for them.
