Thank you for your question! This is a Normally Open reed switch assembly. When there is no magnetic field by the assembly, the circuit is open. When there is a magnetic field by the assembly, the circuit closes. Thank you!

Q: Is picture misleading? Our package came with only the cylinder with lead wires and 2 nuts?

Mine only came with the one cylinder with lead wires and 2 nuts as well. Very misleading picture.
