Starfrit Rotato Express Electric Peeler for Potatoes, Fruits & Vegetables

This electric peeler is one of the most satisfying and effective kitchen tools I have. I primarily use it for peeling potatoes and the blades is sharp enough to cut through thick potato skins with no issue. I can peel 10 pounds of potatoes in less than 10 minutes. Peeling 10 pounds with just a hand peeler would take 45 minutes to an hour and cause my hands to cramp up. This electric peeler dramatically reduces the amount of time and pain involved with the task. The trick is to line the sink with a garbage bag and direct this peeler to deposit the peels onto the bag. Doing so makes cleanup a breeze. One important thing to note is that this tool will get you about 80-85% of the way there when peeling potatoes. You will still need to use a hand peeler to cleanup the areas that are missed. Still, this tool saves a ton of time and even better, avoids the hand cramps that come with peeling a ton of potatoes by hand. It is small enough to store between uses. Strongly recommend this product.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a Time Saver! I absolutely love this electric potato peeler! It makes peeling potatoes so much faster and easier, especially when I’m making a larger batch. You just place the potato in, turn it on, and it does almost all the work for you. I can honestly only give this a four star rating becauseThe only downside I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t completely peel the very top and bottom tips of the potato, so I still have to quickly finish those little areas by hand. But honestly, that only takes a few seconds and is nothing compared to peeling an entire potato myself. Overall, this thing saves me so much time and I’m really happy with it. Definitely a handy little kitchen gadget!

I bought this potato peeler for my sister, who loves to cook but struggles with a lot of hand pain. She absolutely loves this device! It is incredibly easy for her to grip and use without discomfort. This is the best tool I have bought. I have a large number of pears that needed peeling for canning. This tool works very well. I am surprised at how fast and efficient it works. I strongly support buting it.

Mine was missing it's a thumb knife for removing eyes, the slot underneath that was to hold it was empty so that will knock you down a star. Works a lot better than I expected. it does seem to miss two "rings" near the bottom for some reason but those are easily cleaned up with a knife. Isn't very heavy duty so I don't know how long it will last, It sure cleaned up a 10 pound bag of potatoes pretty quickly and was actually fun to use. I thought it would miss a lot of spots due to potato surface irregularity but it actually didn't seem to be bothered by that and cleaned them all up pretty nice. You have to clean up the tops and bottoms of the potatoes so it's easy to take care of the eyes and missed spots at the same time. Do recommend.

**** OPERATION **** My primary use is to peel an apple almost daily and an occasional potato. As of the date of this review I have peeled three apples and one potato. Two of the apples were average size. The potato was on the small side. The peeling was successful. See two attached video and photo 8. For obvious reasons the cutting blade will not peel the top and bottom of the item being peeled and will require cutting off the unpeeled area or hand peel if desired. I decided to try a very large apple. See photo 5. This apple may have exceeded the width capability of this peeler. The widest part of the apple was unpeeled. During the peeling there was a little more noise as if the peeler was “straining”. The height limits of the item being peeled is about 5-1/2 inches plus or minus a bit. See photo 6. Longer items will need to be cut into smaller portion(s). **** PHYSICAL **** I did not expect a commercial quality peeler. This one is for the home consumer. This peeler is almost all plastic and very lightweight, but it is balanced and will not tip over while in use. The upper and lower food holder (photos 2 and 3) only requires just enough insertion to hold the item in place and will work just fine. Since the holders are plastic I suggest when removing a peeled item lift it straight up (bottom) to minimize the chance of breaking the bottom holder. Power options are four AA batteries or an included AC adapter (photo 7). When the peeling is complete the peeler will auto shut off. A note on the power switch (photo 4) when using the AC adapter: When not plugged in, if the switch is in the on position this may not be obvious. The etching in the plastic showing the on and off position is not very clear (see arrows in photo 4). If the switch is in the on position the motor will start when it is plugged in. For this reason I decided not to plug into the outlet until the setup is complete and ready to peel.

it works just fine. The wire could burn out. Check the power numbers. I burned my wire, but it works with battery.

I bought my first rotato peeler on Amazon.com and had it shipped over as I hate peeling potatoes. It is now available on Amazon.co.uk and I bought another for my sister. It is brilliant, easy to use and does the job in half the time. Notc restricted to potatoes, you can feel fruit too. Clean, un messy and then easy to keep clean. Comes with several more blades which I think extends the product life to a good twenty years.
