How does it attach to a belt? Is there a clip that slides on a belt or pants pockets, or does the belt have to be fed through the holder first? Thanks

Dear, our key ring holder supports this both ways of use, you can refer to the 6th picture of our page for specific operations.

Does the package have the key ring in the picture? What width of belt will it fit?

Key ring included. Up to 2 inch belt

Are they stainless steel, will they stick to a magnet or set of a metal detector

Can’t speak on the magnet part of your question but I work in a Youth Detention Center and yes it sets off the metal detector causing it to alert

My new gun belt is 3/8" thick x 1.5" wide. Is this big enough to receive such a thick belt (3/8")?

Yes, I think it's wide enough to accommodate this thickness, more than enough.
