Window Pole Opener and Loft Ladder Pole with Hook | 118cm Smooth Wooden Window Opener Rod with Chrome Pole Hook Suitable for Sash or Velux Windows, Attic, Loft Hatch, and Blinds

I bought this to open the loft without thinking it through. It doesn't work on my type of loft hatch. However, as I am disabled its proved invaluable in other ways. I can just about stand on my loft ladder these days for a few mins before my legs begin to let me down, but I cannot climb in at all. Due to the hooked handle on this sturdy pole I managed,with relative ease, to hoik my Christmas decorations and the tree which is in five bags itself ,towards the hatch, breaking a 3 year no decorations period. lol. In addition, I was sorting out the items stored in my large ottoman bed base. I could similarly drag things towards me with relative ease out of them. When i came to put back what I was keeping I could push them gently into place with it. Its not for its intended purpose - but I do wonder how I managed without it in recent years. its proved a great help to me. Worth every penny. Its very sturdy. Made of strong wood with very good metal at the end. It has two different ends to the book.It now resides, slotted into the side of my airing cupboard to be easily on hand.

Works very well for a standard cross-shaped catch on a loft hatch with a pull down ladder. Good length and sturdy. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it could have been sanded with a finer paper. Whilst I haven't yet, I have read that some reviewers got a splinter from the handle. It's not a rough, un-sanded handle by any means, but it could have had a better sanding. Definitely worth the money and easy to give quick sand over with a fine paper.

Nicely made product, feels sturdy and good quality. I use this for opening and closing my loft hatch and also velux windows.

The length is great for me as l am little old lady. However the chrome end makes it slip trying to use it on my loft hatch both to get the extending part down and push it up again. It needs to be a non slip end. I am having to get it amended.

Very good piece of equipment, works well. Strong and sturdy. Easy to use for opening and closing skylights. Shorter people may find that need a step to reach skylight.

Parcel arrived completely squashed as it was not packaged properly. The silver covering on the "chrome" hook is peeling off, it is NOT suitable for Velux windows and the rough underside of the hook has scratched the window handle. On top of all that this company EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO PAY RETURN POSTAGE, which costs almost as much as the pole cost is the first place. I will donate the thing to charity and hopefully it will be of minor use to someone, at least a charity will benefit. I would recommend avoiding this company like the plague.

Great looking pole, I got this one as I didnt want a plastic looking telescopic one. Its long enough for our skylight, lightweight. The one downside is the hook isnt as good as others i've used. A bit tricky to push a velux window back into place as it doesnt quite grip onto the handle of the window. But it still works just a bit trickier than other hook designs.
