Funny and romantic
I love Chloe Liese for writing such relatable diverse characters. The Bergmans are my favourite series. I laughed out loud and I cried. Willa and Ryder were a great couple to start the series with. I look forward to seeing more of them throughout the series. Also, I love the new covers!

Good read. Surprisingly heavy topics
4/5⭐️This was my first book by Chloe Liese and it’s got me all excited to continue with the Bergman men! I really did enjoy this one! It was actually much more than just a simple romance. The romance is definitely there and an enemies to lovers but there’s some heaviness to it as well that was a pleasant surprise.Willa and Ryder hate each other at first sight. Especially Willa, she gets the wrong impression of him from the start and this leads to an enemies to frenemies to lovers. Its a very cute concept. They bicker and tease each other so often and I loved that part of their relationship. Ryder is such a special man and his story and way of life after his accident is really beautiful. I loved seeing them join together and fight their fear’s together rather than separately. Although this was a fun read, I feel like it didn’t impact me all that much. I had a bit of trouble connecting with Willa and didn’t find her very interesting or impactful in a way that I’ll remember her. Ryder on the other hand, I will definitely remember and he was much more interesting. This was a cute read but nothing incredible that has me obsessed. I still recommend and will continue with book 2!

Loved it!
This was recommended to me by an IG bookfriend and I'm so glad I discovered this author!Book 1 in the Bergman Brother's series, we meet Ryder and Willa. I don't even know where to start from, but I will try to keep it short.Willa is a difficult character, but so well built I loved her. Her personality is not my fav, she's difficult most the times, makes easy things hard and has some commitment and communication issues. Bir she's consistent. She know what her flaws are and she admits them. Also, she's not the kind of characters that's described as "difficult" and then makes everything alright.Yes, there were times I wanted to kill her, yell at her to cut the BS, but I understand why she was acting like that, because we had the chance to get to know her previously and now you get to empathize with her.Ryder is an adorable and hot lumberjack. He lost most of his hearing a couple years before due to an illness and even though he's learnt to go on with his life and gas accepted his new reality, meeting Willa is something he wasn't expecting. He's caring, thoughtful and pretty perfect, really. He makes mistakes, but overall he's the easily to love character.Their relationship has many stages. Enemies due to misunderstandings, somewhat friends or more like frenemies and then... They don't know because they so crave each other but can't see it themselves.Their story is cute because it felt natural. How everything grows between them and their bond shifts and changes. Many times they act like a couple and is sweet and beautiful to see, and at the same time the sexual tension grows and gets bigger and you can't wait for them to finally go for it.The story had other subplots that broke my heart but that I don't want to spoil, so I will just say this was a touching and highly enjoyable romance between two people that never expected the other and, together, they learn to be more brave, to overcome their fears and be as happy as they can. Also, I love this kind of family centered series. The Bergmans are tied and there are a lot of them (7 books total), and I just can't wait to keep reading their books and seeing more of the previous MCs in each book.Waiting for my next book to arrive, and I can't wait to read Ren's story (hockey player!!) and learn why he hates his full name.

HOW have I waited so long to start this series?!
This was my first Chloe Liese book, and most definitely won’t be my lastThis book is hilarious and simply adorable. They meet in a college class, with Willa asking Ryder for lecture notes. He ignores her - not by choice, but because of hearing loss - which gives them a negative start to connecting. After being forced to work on a project together, their competitive spirits have them trying to one-up each other with pranks.Starting as enemies(ish) & then becoming friends, Willa & Ryder both secretly want more, though they’re barely able to admit that to themselves. They are both going through their own personal struggles and challenges, and find a way to be there for one another.I tandem read/listened to the audio for this one - the narration is FANTASTIC and I highly recommend it!This book definitely left me wanting more of the Bergman family, and I’m so glad it’s just the start of the series.Tropes + topics:⚽️ Enemies to lovers⚽️ College Sports⚽️ Grumpy/grumpy⚽️ Both athletes (soccer)⚽️ Disability rep (hearing loss)⚽️ Pranks⚽️ Family + found family⚽️ Slow burn⚽️ Dual POV/first person *there are definitely some topics in this book that can be triggering, make sure to check the warnings.
