Vienna® Dusseldorf Mustard 9oz (4 Pack)

loved the White Castle brand for years but they quit selling it, so the search began. lolfinally found this one and let me tell you mustard fans out there, it is awesome stuff! highly recommended.

A good, flavorful brown mustard, spicy but not hot, reasonably priced. Whether its "Dusseldorf", I don't know. Online articles on it are inconsistent & speak more to process than flavor. This was only my second Dusseldorf, and my idea of it was shaped by my first, Thumann's, which to me is a smooth-textured cross between dijon and brown. This Vienna version doesn't resemble that at all, but it won't disappoint.

I first found Vienna Dusseldorf mustard at Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati (the only grocery store in the midwest US that can genuinely claim to be a tourism draw) and immediately fell in love with it. It was the first Dusseldorf-style mustard I ever tried, and it's by far the best. Of course, it's not available at any retailers where I actually live, so ordering it online is the best I can do.Overall, it's a great general-purpose mustard. It has a consistency similar to that of common yellow mustard (like French's or Plochman's), but the flavor has more bite to it, closer to a brown mustard. It's like a mild sweet-hot mustard. I have yet to find a meat that it doesn't work well on, but it really shines on sausages like bratwurst. I suggest trying it on anything you would use yellow mustard on, and then branch out into experimentation from there.

Its ok but nothing like the real dusseldorf mustard i am used to.

As soon as it was delivered, I opened the jar, took a quick sniff and put some on my finger to taste, right away my memories of Germany and their food came to mind. I love to put this into my Deviled Eggs, oops, my secret is out. But hey, spread the joy and enjoy. I do not think you will be disappointed. Love these on hotdogs too.

First had this mustard in a wonderful German Restaurant in Nashville, TN, I was thrilled to fin it on Amazon, and it is exactly the same. This goes great with so many things: brats, dogs, hamburgers, soft pretzels.
