Aluminum, precise machining, does not leak
Removed 1 1/2" of corroded aluminum 5/8" suction line:- Cut the line with a small pipe cutter. The line is aluminum, so very easy to cut (and score).- The length of the S.U.R.R AC58 compression fitting's body (i.e.: the union body) will add ~1/2" to the overall length of your lineOn both ends of the repaired line:- use emery cloth sand paper (320 or finer) to remove the cut's burrs- clean the interior of the cut lines with a cotton cue tip or small paint/flux brush- clean the exterior of the cut lines (e.g.: BrakCleen, put it on a rag in order to avoid spraying inside the lines)- Slide on the compression fitting nut (2 total, 1 on each line end)- Slide on the ferrule (2 total, 1 on each line end)- Slide on the A/C o-ring (2 total, 1 on each line end)- Thread the nuts onto the compression fitting union body's male threads- Snug up the nuts 'wrench tight'
