Saddly a waste of money
I absolutly hate giving bad reviews however I have nothing positive to say about these bulbs. 3 of these blew within the first 48 hours. Over 90% of the time they did not come on with motion and the rare times they did they did not turn off or just flickered. There were nothing blocking the views of the sensor, no shades or covers. Just an exposed free hanging socket in the cleaning closet and butler pantry and the motion still did not work. Other lights work just fine so it was not anything to do with my electricity.

I had only heard - now I see
I must have read up on hundreds of different LED bulbs that could possibly work in an enclosed fixture (2 on my garage and 2 outside the front door - all 4 bulbs are outside lights). The thing that struck me in the reviews for this light was the brightness that was often mentioned and the ease of use (i.e. automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn).I've had them in operation for about 4 days now and they are everything everyone mentioned and more. Absolutely beam out light at night. Light up the front of the house beautifully (great curbside appeal) and they light in front, off to the side, and up high (illuminating the trees in my yard). The light actually lights up the front of my neighbor's house across the street (about 120 feet away).Fantastic as it gets for great bulbs that do more than just light. Toss in the fact they use very little electricity and turn themselves off and on - well that's a winner in my book.

Exceeded my Expectation
These Philips LED Dusk-to-Dawn, size A19 (normal lamp size) light bulbs are best-in-class for many reasons. I have been using Philips Dusk-to-Dawn CFL bulbs for over 16 years, so when I heard that Philips had replaced them with an LED version, I was both excited and apprehensive. After all, I always hate giving up something that works. But these new LED Dusk-to-Dawn bulbs blew me away. First, they are in the warm color range of 2700-Kelvins. This color is becoming rare these days, with the trend to "daylight" (bluish-white, 5000 Kelvin) bulbs. I have no idea why people would want daylight-colored bulbs for outdoor, nighttime lighting. Blinding! Warm-color, 2700-Kelvin bulbs are much easier on the eye at night. Second, these LED bulbs are rated to last 22 years! That is probably longer than I have left on earth, and certainly many times longer than CLF bulbs. Third, these bulbs are very well engineered and designed, and look perfect in my outdoor lighting fixtures...coming on automatically at dusk, so I never have to worry about being home to turn them on in the evening. Finally, you have the Philips quality that has been a trusted brand for generations. I highly recommend these bulbs.

Excellent Dusk To Dawn Sensor
Brightness - No brighter or worse than my Cree 60W equivalent LED warm white bulb. Don't believe any reviews that say they're equivalent to 100W bulbs.Dusk To Dawn Sensor - Absolutely incredible. This is why you buy a Philips and not some cheap brand like Feit Electric. See my photo for the ultimate test. The Philips is in a frosted glass enclosure, under an awning, with my neighbor's house to the right blocking the morning sun, with overcast skies (no direct sun). The wall mounted sconce has a built in dusk-to-dawn sensor with a regular light bulb. As you can see, the sconce is still on but the Philips has already turned off. Also, when the sconce is on, it doesn't stop the Philips from turning on at night too. Truly amazing!

Reliable dusk-dawn lighting for outdoor porch and interior accent lights; perfect warm tone lighting
Am using these bulbs both inside and outside. I love the natural warm tone light that these bulbs produce. That's the perfect tone for living room accent lighting and welcoming front entry porch lighting as well.I had 2 initial concerns:- would the photo sensor would be affected by using this bulb in a domed outdoor fixture? No - - - I have these bulbs in two barn style outdoor light fixtures and they work perfectly. The fixtures are on ether side of our front entry porch which is recessed from the walkway and front of the house. I was concerned the recessed entry would be too dark and falsely trigger the bulbs to stay on 24/7. Not the case. They work perfectly and although I haven't actually been standing outside at the moment they go on, they must both go on/off in fairly synchronized timing because I have yet to notice a time that only one was on/off singularly.- my second concern was regarding the interior accent lights sensing the lights in the house as daylight and going on/off dependent on which house lights were on or off. Again, very pleased that these bulbs go on/off only being triggered by sunlight and not home lighting. Apparently they can sense the difference between light waves from sunlight and light waves from other light sources.Whatever the case, these work and are fantastic replacements for the plug in timers we used to use indoors, and the wall timer we had installed for the porch lights.

Works Like A Charm
I was tired of constantly resetting my outside timers as the days got longer or shorter. I found these bulbs so I could remove the timers and they would turn on and off automatically. They have been installed for a little over two month now and they work perfectly - all the time. I initially purchased less expensive photo-sensor bulbs on Amazon but after several attempts and even writing directly to the manufacturer - they just didn't work - so I returned them and purchases the Phillips bulbs. These are reliable, work every time and are bright even though they are LED and very low wattage. I would highly recommend these for anyone who wants the security of having outside lights which will come on and go off automatically. A great buy - would recommend this product.

Great Light Bulb for Security
Great light bulb! I replaced 6 outdoor lights so there would always be lights on when I get home from work late. They all come on and go off at the same time. I was going to install a timer but, these ended up being cheaper and a lot less hassle. I want to eventually replace all of my outdoor lights with these. I would highly recommend these.
