Q: does this have to be vented ouit a window?

Hello, thank you for asking, this doesn't have to be vented out a window, it is a plug and play evaporative air cooler which is water circulation cooling. No windows required.

Q: Do the louvers move up and down automatically?

They do not. The inside louvers move side to side when set to do so. The up and down louvers are stationary and stay however you position them.

Q: Does the water tank, pull out? I’d like to add ice at the bottom too.

Hello, Thank you for asking. To realize the 2.64 gallon large capacity water tank and make it leakproof, our air cooler is designed without a pulling-out tank, though it can be opened by removing the top and rear screws to clean the inside of the water tank when it's needed. Adding ice pack and ice from the top is suggested.
