Larabar ALT Bar, Peanut Butter Cookie, 1.95 Ounce (Pack of 15)

The larabar ALT bars are a great protein bar, and personally I really like the fact that there are only a handful of ingredients and no weird stuff.However, I am not giving this 5/5 stars because the packaging was a little strange. My 15 bars came held together by saran wrap. No, not a plastic bag or cover of some kind, actual saran wrap, and multiple layers. Every other time I have ordered some kind of bar from amazon it has come in a box from the manufacturer. The saran wrap was weird to me because it gives the feeling that it wasn't direct from the manufacturer in some way, but I don't exactly have any guesses why it was done this way.

I love Lara bars. They have very few ingredients and are really the only bars I will eat. This one is a little harder than the pure fruit bars, but the flavor is still good and it does the job. I use them for snacks, breakfast, whatever. I enjoy the lemon bars from Lara bar - they are a top fav flavor. I probably won't buy many of the ALT bars though, b/c they are kinda hard, and I just like the regular Lara bars too much. But it was a fun experiment, and if you want a little more protein in your diet - this is a great way to get it.

Since I have to go gluten free, I get a little tired of the nut and fruit combos in most gluten-free options. The ALT Bar is a nice change of pace! Good lemony flavor with a little bit of crunch from the soy nuggets. My daughter thinks they taste like sawdust, but I like them! I find other Larabars to oily and gooey, especially when exposed to a little warmth, but the ALT bars aren't like that. I'm sold!

Well, these do no compare to the higher calories Lara bars. The lemon flavor is pleasing. The texture borders on dry. There are little "balls" of crunch like tiny chunks of hard rice. This makes them crunchier than I like. I keep them in an office drawer in case I can't get out for lunch and one will cut hunger nicely in a pinch. They will not be my favorites.

These are absolutely my favorite granola bars ever. They pea protein give you a lot of protein at low calories and with great taste. I am actually upset because the Wegman's that used to carry it said that it was a discontinued item. I am soooo disappointed to hear that. That is why I ordered them online. Also, I have a lot of food sensitivities and this is one of the few bars that I can eat with all the benefits I just mentioned.

I am always looking for a vegan, gluten free protein snack bar, so I thought to try these. Flavor is fine, but the texture is really firm and dry. I need to drink water when I eat this! I'm glad that it has pea protein, but disappointed in the texture and hoping it would have had less than 14g sugar. I wish there were other flavors that are peanut free, as this is the only Larabar ALT bar that is.

These taste great but the boxes I received were only 3 weeks from expiration. I'm eating them past their expiration and they seem ok, but I really hate purchasing online and getting nearly expired products. I ordered from a third party seller (not amazon).

We love these bars. But, were past their use-by date. This box arrived on 8/17/2016 with an expiration date of 03 July 2016. Not cool.
