KneeRover GO Hybrid - Most Compact Knee Scooter Knee Walker with All Terrain Front Wheels for Foot, Lower Leg or Ankle Injury

After many hours studying the various knee scooters on the market I decided to purchase this scooter after breaking my ankle a few weeks ago. Meet my 'Green Goddess!' lol It's not cheap but I needed something that folds down super easily and small for travel so we can take in the car in 5 weeks time to France for a our holiday. 3 adults, 1 dog and a car load of stuff! Using crutches continuously is simply not sustainable especially when I would like to be able to freely go further with my family, pop to the local shop, do more things in the house and simply give me back a small amount of independence which is one of the toughest things to ensure when you are non weight bearing for weeks on end. It's light weight, has a good break and turn. wheels are quite sturdy - 2 large at front and 2 smaller at back. I bought a good bike basket off Amazon as the company itself is rubbish and does not offer any accessories in the UK and sadly only model that doesnt come with anything extra (@Knee Rover - do better please!) It takes a little practice, i find it quite hard on my knee/leg as I have a long injury boot plus my has triggered my sciatic nerve slightly but it is well made and has a good gel padding compared to other models I've read about. I'm 5'4, size 10 and fits well to my height/weight. Good luck everyone who like me didnt even know these existed until I broke my ankle! lol

Wish I'd bought this from week 1 of my injury. Made getting around so much easier. Took it on holiday, and made getting around so much easier. Glides around in inside spaces with ease eg shopping centers, airport, hospital. Works well outdoors too. I took it to the beach, the park, the school run, supermarket ect. If also use it as a leg rest or a seat whilst out. Folds away with ease and I was able to lift it up whilst balancing on one leg. There's a velcro strap at the front, I used it to attach my crutches so if I needed to go up or down stairs, my husband would carry the scooter and I'd uses the crutches or I'd ask someone for help .this was perfect as I was able to get around to almost everywhere

This has been invaluable after I broke my ankle! Easy to assemble. Brake works very well. Great for indoor and outdoor use, although easiest on flat floors. It's also received many compliments from friends :) Buy a bike tire pump in advance though as tires were not fully inflated on arrival.

This is my first encounter with knee scooters, but I have been using a rental Nova scooter for a couple of weeks now. This is probably what prompted me to buy my own. The Nova is heavy, noisy, and should have been replaced long ago by the DME cheapskates. At least I have a baseline for comparison purposes. The GO Hybrid was easy to assemble following the instructions, with one exception. When it came time to add the knee pad (some call it a "seat") the clamp was way too loose. In theory it was just a matter of turning the clamp handle a couple of turns to tighten it, but the nut is a Nylock. Not having access to my shop, I used SOG compound pliers to hold the nut while I screwed the handle in about 1 to 1.5 turns. A suitable socket or wrench would have been preferred. Hey, adapt, overcome, etc. Problem solved. After inflating the tires with a portable air compressor and making height adjustments it was showtime. This scooter rolls much easier than the Nova on hard surfaces - it just glides. On carpet it's about a wash between the two. About those pneumatic front tires - they are only rated at 35 PSI max. To me that adds a bit of mush to the handling, but not enough to knock off a star. The upside to that is that they provide some cushion when crossing a transition. Edit: I used an automotive battery jumper/compressor to air up the tires (again, no shop access for me) so I was suspicious of its pressure gauge. I had my wife retrieve a pressure gauge for me and found the tires at 24 PSI. Pumped them up to 35 and the mushy, unstable handling went away. TIP: air them up correctly, it's actually a safety issue. I noticed immediately that the steering is a tad bit stiff. Not difficult mind you, the handlebars just require positive input to change direction. This is a good thing! On the Nova the steering is extremely loose and squirrelly. This allows your trajectory to get deflected easily by the smallest object, possibly leading to a fall if you aren't ready. The GO Hybrid seems to have a built-in steering stabilizer then. Edit: the steering has loosened up now and resistance is not there anymore. It is not what I would call "loose" though. Now the brakes. The GO Hybrid has a drum brake that was adjusted correctly out of the box and works very well. Compared to the old-school bicycle style brakes on the Nova they are far superior in stopping and holding power. There is a catch, if you could call it that. The GO Hybrid has a solid rear axle, so one brake unit is all that is needed. But when you are turning, the rear wheels resist the turn just a bit. On carpet this produces some drag. On hard surfaces the rear wheels squeak. OK, not a big problem to me. The wheelbase is a few inches shorter than the Nova, and I think that helps with maneuverability around the house. The turning radius seems to be about the same. Pardon me if I don't get out the measuring tape to confirm. The knee pad is softer than the Nova and feels pretty good. I may add a pad after putting a few miles on it, we will see. I have not yet taken it for a road trip, so I can't comment on folding it up and putting it in the car. But I can say that the clamps provided for that purpose are far superior to that of the Nova. And the GO Hybrid is a LOT lighter. I will edit this review if I have any more significant findings to report.

I purchased this scooter after having foot surgery. It has been 7 weeks now and I am allowed to start some partial weight-bearing while wearing a boot, so I am still using this scooter to get around. One of my daughters is an occupational therapist and she advised me to purchase a scooter with two wheels in the back for stability. She was right. I also use this scooter outdoors and the inflatable front wheels really make a difference in where I can go. It is important to keep checking the tire pressure. I also purchased the basket and it is invaluable. I use the memory foam cover and while it is helpful, I do find that my knee gets quite sore. My surgeon said that is a common complaint. I have ordered a set of volleyball knee pads and will give that a try. I highly recommend this scooter. It is such a pleasure to have a little bit of freedom in terms of movement while I recover!

Super für ältere, oder besonders schwere oder sehr schwache Menschen, die einen Fuß nicht belasten dürfen. Zum Beispiel nach einer OP und wo die Menschen aber nicht mit Krücken/ Unterarmgehstützen gehen können. Können wir nur empfehlen. Der Roller war schon zweimal genau dafür im Einsatz und ist ein wahrer Segen. Auch gut anwendbar für Leute in kleiner Wohnung. Passt überall durch.

I do not write reviews unless I am really impressed. I am an ER physician who managed to fall off a ladder and fracture my heel. I was very limited in my ability to use crutches and even had a fall using them on my first day following my injury. I went to a medical supply place locally and purchased a floor model Roscoe. I don’t recommend using a medical supply shop as they are notorious for overcharging. The model I got was very good. It was very sturdy and was rated for 350 pounds. But Roscoe doesn’t offer a locking brake and the turning radius made maneuvering in the house awkward as I frequently had to either backup and turn or lift the front end and reposition to make turns even around an island in the kitchen. The PVC wheels were sturdy, but made going over door thresholds painful as every bump and crevice was transferred to my painful foot. My second purchase was an Elenker as it had 2 hand brakes that were advertised to lock. My assumption was that all four wheels would brake —they don’t. Only the rear wheels would brake and the mechanism of a metal bar clamping down on the wheel is far inferior to a drum brake that Roscoe had or this KneeRover Hybrid. Furthermore the locking mechanism was simply garbage and although the brakes would lock, the bar didn’t touch the wheel and it simply didn’t work. Very disappointed with Elenker, the only aspect that had any redeeming quality was the turning radius permitted me to make that turn around the kitchen island. Assembly of the Elenker was a little challenging with my injury and revealed far inferior construction compared to the Roscoe and to the KneeRover Hybrid. On my third attempt to get a knee scooter I paid the extra money for the KneeRover Hybrid. There is another Knee Rover that costs less that is identical in all respects except with all four PVC wheels instead of the front pneumatic wheels. The pneumatic wheels made a remarkable difference in absorbing those cracks and door thresholds. At first I was concerned because there seemed to be too much play in the scooter moving from side to side. After inspecting the tires I realized the tires were under inflated. Adding air to those tires solidified the scooter and the side rocking was gone. This scooter is STURDY. It is well made. The turning radius was perfect without making the unit at risk for tipping with turns. The brakes are a dream. They work and lock perfectly. I was so impressed I purchased a second unit to keep in my car so I can bolt out the door to go to work without delaying for collapsing the scooter for transport. This is the one to get. It is mostly assembled and well packed. The only thing lacking so far is the front basket, but this can be purchased separately as well as a perfectly matching memory foam topper for the knee saddle. Get this one. You won’t be disappointed.
