I foster hospice/special needs pugs and use pads allllllll over the place. I used to use disposable but I started feeling really bad about all that plastic and all that money. These are great, I wash them (and the vast belly band collection) with bleach no fabric softeners! and they usually last a year or more before the padding starts to shred. Even then, if they aren’t leaking I’ll still use them as under layers with blankets, puppy claws can get snagged when they are shredded so protective blankets are a must. These are a nice big size, nice thickness and so far have held up really well to repeated washings and general heavy use by the dogs. I know they are meant for people and honestly I’d use them for that too if the need ever arose. No more plastic being tossed daily, they keep my bed dry and are easy to clean. Very win

I purchased 2 of the 4 packs in August 2021. I'm now writing this review in April 2022, so I have had a lot of time to form an opinion. One of my cats got a bad UTI that spread to her kidneys. She is an indoor only cat, and was not using the litter box to urinate. She would go on the carpet next to the litter box. So I got these mats to put by the litter box for her while she received treatment for the UTI. She seemed to understand to use the mats instead of the carpet, thank god.I still leave the mats down for her to this day. If she uses them, I know she might be having another flare up. The mats are very absorbent and do not leak. I think this is the most important part in someone's decision to purchase! The disposable pads I tried were not absorbent enough, but these bed pads are able to handle the mess.I wash them in the washing machine with cold water and my normal laundry detergent, and then hang to air dry. I have not tried putting them into the dryer.It's only now that they're starting to show some minor discoloration. There is also still a minor lingering odor of cat urine at times, but I don't think this will be an issue if used for humans or animals excluding cats. The odor was there even if I used a special cat urine remover cleaner, so I switched to my cheaper laundry detergent. This is not a flaw with the product, but more of the nature of cat urine leaving a very difficult smell to remove.I hope I will not need more of these in the future, but if I do, I will buy this same product. I am glad they were available to purchase on here. I couldn't find anything local that would work for my situation.
