SEDNA - 2.5" Grommet Hole - in Desk - USB 3.1 Gen I 3 Port Hub/BC 1.2 USB Charger with SD Card Reader

It’s this kind of petty lack of complete details that’s making Amazon hard for me to trust with hardware. This is international measurements you may be trying to install in standard spaces. That’s fine, but the instructions say use a 2 ⅜” hole saw. If you’re making this hole yourself, you know how valuable it is to be able to make snug fits. This isn’t a typical size that comes in most kits - which is what I bought to install a few grommets. Had I known this information, I would have looked for a different kit. Now this is just complicating my life unnecessarily. Sent mine back. Now you know what to do with yours.

I had been looking for a grommet cover that had USB ports. When I found this one it looked like it would do what I needed it to do. After installing it in my desk and hooking it up to my computer I tried using the USB ports. None of them worked. Even the powered one didn't work. I also tried the SD card reader, and nothing happened. I got so busy I was unable to return the product within the time period allowed. So I'm writing this to tell others not to waste there money on this.

I bought this and am very happy with it. The actual unit is smaller than 2.5" so be careful that you don't drill too big of a hole. Use electrical tape around the sides so the grommet stays in place. All functions work. USB 3..0 microSD and regular SD. I tested with large capacity 128gb and it worked fine. The usb ports can be a little stiff at first. You do get a power adapter so you charge a device with it. It is not fast charging.

Very sturdy product and was easy to install. The comments that it is just a hair shy of fitting a 2.5 hole is accurate, but just take a roll of electrical tape and go around the circumference a few times and it fits nice and snug. I elected not to plug in the included AC power as it isn't really needed for the application I will use it for.

I love it... works well. Be careful with it... my first one had a loose USB connection. But the replacement was super easy super quick and I love it.Edit:second one died as well as the first... new verdict... avoid

As others have noted, it's a little bit smaller than a true 2.5" hole, but a couple of layers of electrical tape around the edge soon took care of that and now it's snug in the holes in my desk.No problems at all; everything is working as expected and my USB 3 stick runs at true USB 3 speeds. Having the SD card readers there is super handy as I'm a photographer; being able to just take my cards out of my camera and put them directly in my desk is a lot easier than poking around under the desk to get to my desktop tower.

Who has a 2.5 inch whole saw? Not this guy! Had to go to the hardware store to buy one and ended up dropping a hammer on my toe. Never wear flip flops to the hardware store. This thing functions as expected once installed.

Works great, even without the power plugged in. I waited so long to get a product like this for under $50. It's overpriced, but when you want it you pay for it and I have no regrets.

This does not fit a standard desk 2.5" cable tidy hole . More like 58mm. Flops around like a fish out of water.USB cable (1m) hard wired - only useful if your pc is right under the grommet hole. recommend you buy1) Usb extension cable 2) large roll of black tape. or preferably someting else that does the job properely.Very poor for a premium priced product.

Powered or un powered Usb hub and card reader

Like all Chinese ripoff goods, worked well in the first 5 min. All USBs worked, memory card worked. After day 3 it would keep disconnecting itself from windows (like somebody pulling the cable and plugging it back in). Memory card is gone, and I am now looking for a replacement. It's as if they chips inside can't handle any current and burn themselves out after mild use. This device makes me want to kill myself.

On my grommet one of the blue plastic tabs in a USB port pulled out with my cord, so I'm down to 2 USBs. I have unplugged it from the wall as well, the product was overheating and I wasn't using it for a charging port anyway. The SD card reader works great and 2 of the 3 USBs still seem to work alright with occasional disconnect/reconnect cycles from my computer. It's a touch annoying, for a product of this price I hoped for more. Unfortunately I bought it at $80 and the price has dropped since then.

Unlike the instructions, you don't need a 2.5" hole saw - more like a 2.25" (2 1/4). It works great, it's just really loose in there with the 2.5" hole, which is a solid piece of bamboo wood/desk. No compaints, only loses a star for the wrong hole size.
