Totally Bamboo Pro Board Long Bamboo Carving and Cutting Board, 22" x 16" x 2"

Yes, this product costs more than a basic board. The reason being this is not a basic board. I've needed a board with more area for some time so decided to treat myself with this chopping block. It's thick without being too heavy. I'm not sure if I'd be able to manage a solid wood block of this size as easily as this product. It will take me a bit of getting used to since this is my first "block" style board and it raises the cutting surface quite a bit up. I've included pictures of the underside and also of the side with measurement since it is not on the page currently.

We had a $40 cutting board from a high-end furniture/household store that looked great and we assumed was of high quality since it was high-priced ($40 seemed like a lot for a cutting board back then). We were totally wrong, it immediately began to warp and never looked as good as the first day we used it. Over time it started to develop cracks and eventually after about 6 months it all fell apart and split in half overnight (at night it was "fine", we went to sleep, woke up and it was in two pieces).So we came on here looking for reviews and the reviews for this Bamboo Big Kahuna were amazing so after thinking about it for sometime we decided to take the plunge thinking that that many 5-star reviews can't be wrong. And right we were, this thing is amazing. It is HUGE which is great because we have just the right amount of space for it on our counter. We had to change our cooking style a bit (instead of bringing the cutting board to the stove we brought the pots/pans to the cutting board to transfer veggies and meat). We use it for both veggies and meat, I know a lot of people say to use it for one or the other but it has been fine for us. We bought the Totally Bamboo oil to go along with it and it looks great after oiling it (hopefully it's also helping to maintain it structurally). Right now it looks as good as new and I think we bought it about 1-2 months ago. It shows cut marks when you look closely at it but otherwise it is in perfect condition. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new cutting board.

I've had this in my cart for about two years when I finally decided to fork over the money and purchase. I am SOOO glad I did. We love this work of art!I was perhaps expecting something bigger based on the other reviewers. It is big, sure enough, but not overwhelmingly so. I guess that opinion would be relative to your kitchen, counter space, and even personal height. For us, it is perfect. I am 5'11'' and my wife is 5'4" with a medium sized kitchen with very limited counter space (we use a lot of small appliances on a daily basis) and it works perfectly.Cleaning is a breeze, but one bonehead tip - don't use olive oil to season. I must admit, I have no idea what you're supposed to use, but I am seeing some grey spots that I believe may be mold growth, so I'm pretty sure that was my bad. Luckily I caught it early and it hasn't been an issue. Please comment if you have any advice on this matter that would be helpful. Thanks!

This is truely the "BIG KAHUNA", this is definetaly a large board so as others have said you will need to have room for it because it is heavy and you do not want to be moving it around. I leave mine directly on my kitchen island. When I received the board I did treat it with the bamboo wood oil everyday for one week, so I did not use it the first week (my personal choice) we do treat it once a month now. I also do not use it to cut meat, any type of meat I use a seperate plastic one. Everything else is cut on this. I have MS and sometimes have problems with pain in my hands, with the feet on this it raises the board up for me so your wrists are not bent or strained as much. I am an avid cook and use my board every singe day and cannot say enough about how much I love this board. The wood grain on the sides is gorgeous and is a wonderful addition to my kitchen not only as a tool but a focal point. Another tip, if you have a standard size stove(gas) you can turn the board sideways and it will cover 2 of your burners so you can slice there and add right to skillet. If you want a cutting board you will be able to hand down to your grandkids, this is it!!!

We bought this over a year ago when my husband started the Gerson Therapy. Three months into his therapy, we had gone through two standard cutting boards. What caught my eye with the Big Kahuna is that it has feet. The problem with our other two boards was that water was getting trapped underneath and was causing the boards to warp and come apart. The high volume of produce we were washing and cutting for his therapy was just too demanding for those wimpy boards!I got the Big Kahuna, and yes, it is BIG! It is not only tall but also wide and deep. My husband loves that it is just the right size work area for preparing a large batch of produce for vegetable/fruit juices.We try to put a butcher block oil on it every few weeks and have had no problems with it whatsoever. We would definitely recommend it.

Or even want, for that matter. This thing is absolutely enormous, extremely sturdy, and made of some great bamboo. You only have to oil it about once a month after the initial period (where you should oil once a week). Stands up to any knife and doesn't absorb liquid from food, like tomatoes. Cleans up easily and spectacularly. Everything about this cutting board is the cream of the crop. The feet are perfect height, it is long enough for cutting large baguettes and other fresh breads, really long carrots, enormous cuts of meat, etc. You can almost literally use this cutting board as a surface for any food processing or any kind. Once you experience how amazing of a kitchen tool this is, you will wonder how you ever made it without it.I highly recommend this, and is well worth the cost.

Actual board thickness is less than it appears but still it’s fine. Just sounds hollow when cutting and chopping. Overall a fine and beautiful board.

Ergonomically designed for people like myself with back problems. Alleviates strain and I LOVE this product. It is heavy, but of excellent quality.

This has a special place in my kitchen. We use it all the time. I just love it. Keep it oiled and it will last forever. I love the large size. 2 can even cut on it at once.

very happy with the big kahuna cutting board. finally a product from china that is made to high standards.very impressed with your shipping .followed the process on line.really have oiled well.only problem was one of the legs fell off easy fix glued it back on.this one i cannot see this board warping.
